Sponsored Workspace!
$400 per month
At this level, I will be able to fund a small artist studio to work in, which will be a glorious day! This will give me enough space to setup my tools and create the physical models and sculptures for Jack Houston!
Mega-Awesome 1000 SF Office/Garage Studio!
$1,000 per month
At this point I will be able to upgrade to a serious workshop with plenty of ventilated warehouse space and a climate controlled office for sculpting, animation and fine modeling work, as well as a space for my computer desk so that I can keep all my work under one roof and within arm's reach.
Supplies Fund and Bi-Weekly Behind The Scenes Episodes!
$1,500 per month
At this level, I will be able to afford the extra supplies and materials I need to keep sculpting and modeling away on the game! To celebrate, I will be putting together more "Fantasy Workshop" videos to share my work with everyone at the end of each 2-week sprint, in a fun-filled, action packed episodic format!
Increased Workshop Time and Weekly Google Hangouts!
$2,500 per month
This will give me enough cushion to spend more time in the workshop, and in addition to the bi-weekly episodes, we'll have a weekly hangout session where I'll give you a peek at upcoming fun stuff in the workshop and guests will be encouraged to show off their own creations!

About

A professional storyteller, Davidson’s love of film and computer games began at the age of eight with the introduction of a TI-99/4A computer into his household. He taught himself Basic and spent the next decade prototyping computer games on the TI, C64 and PC before landing a job with Origin Systems and finally releasing his own shareware game called Shadow of the Lost Citadel.

Turning his attention to the film and video industry, Davidson spent the following twelve years making music videos, short films and feature films including his 2009 teen “smasher” Sweatshop. As a freelance cinematographer, editor and visual effects artist, Davidson has also worked on many other films and games including Jacob (Kino Lorber), Dead Still (SyFy Channel), Chillerama (ArieScope Pictures) Psychic Experiment (Lionsgate/Upstart Filmworks) and Resonance (Wadget Eye Games).

Now, Davidson is working to combine his passion for narrative storytelling, visual effects, practical effects and stop motion animation with the technology of computer game design in the creation of the sci-fi epic point & click adventure game Jack Houston and the Necronauts.  Follow along in the workshop as he writes, codes, records dialog, sculpts, molds, casts, paints, kit bashes and fabricates his way though an exploration of the adventure game genre, a world where mysteries are solved and legends born one click at a time!

Welcome!
To my gamedev adventures! My name is Stacy Davidson and I'm designing and building Jack Houston from the ground up. Follow along as I sculpt the characters and creatures, code the gameplay, build the miniature model backgrounds, create cinematic cutscene videos and craft an original PC adventure game from real world objects!

JACK HOUSTON AND THE NECRONAUTS
Is a point and click computer game in the tradition of Sierra and LucasArts classics like Full Throttle, The Dig, Monkey Island and Space Quest, and modern titles like Broken Age and The Walking Dead. It is set in a retro science fiction world and revolves around test pilot Jack Houston on a mission to test the first rocketship to Venus.

AN ADVENTURE IN STOP MOTION!
What makes Jack Houston exciting and unique is that each character, creature and robot will be put onscreen through the process of stop motion animation, evoking the feel of classic Ray Harryhausen films like 20 Million Miles to Earth, The First Men On The Moon, Jason And The Argonauts and Clash of the Titans.

The fantasy sci-fi environments will also be created as physical models and composited as digital matte paintings. As you explore the game, you will be immersed in an environment so real you'll feel as through you can reach in and touch it.

SO WHERE DOES PATREON  FIT IN?
This is the super rad part where you can follow along with the creation and even get involved!

As I work, I will be chronicling the entire game development. This means the design, writing, coding, fabrication, sculpting, molding, casting, kit bashing and modeling of the characters, creatures, robots, rocketships and sci-fi landscapes, on video through live streaming and YouTube!

And as a backer on Patreon, you will get access to:

  • Exclusive backer content
  • Take part in google hangouts
  • Get your name in the credits

And receive my ongoing gratitude as an awesome supporter of this unique, challenging (and slightly insane) endeavor!

I am the sole creator of this game and every dollar that you pledge per month makes it easier for me to devote more and more time to the creation of this project, so thank you so much for helping to make it happen!!!
