Hello, Stan here. I'm a New York City based theater artist with a background in theology, Western esotericism, and plant medicines. Over the past decade I've written over twenty plays, most notably Veritas, the true story of a secret gay witch hunt at Harvard in 1920, and Private Manning Goes to Washington, which intertwines the lives of army whistleblower Chelsea Manning and the late Internet pioneer and information-hacktivist Aaron Swartz. For more information on my career thus far, please check out my website

Three years ago I took a leap into the unknown, leaving my dayjob to become a full-time writer. I couldn't have done it without my extraordinary patrons, some of whom have been seeing my work now for over a decade. The financial and emotional/spiritual support I've received from folks via Patreon has been indispensable and inspiring as my plays find their way to big, beautiful productions. In addition to news and updates, I use Patreon to share essays about the nature of the creative process, particularly alternative ways of thinking about our creative blocks. While many of my supporters live outside of NYC, by joining my Patreon community you'll be invited to ▞BACKSPACE my salon series where I and other artists develop new pieces and revisit older ones amongst an eclectic and brilliant group of theater enthusiasts. Every ▞BACKSPACE listening party is a one of a kind event, giving you the opportunity to make friends and replenish your own creative powers.

And if you're inspired to do so, please join me by making whatever pledge you can. Your support warms my heart and helps me keep my vision independent.

Finally, I mention in the Rewards section Theatrical Portraits, which is my term for personally-commissioned works based on real life people and events. For more about this unique mixture of theatre, journalism and personal history, check out my intro video above!
