DIRECTOR'S CUT: Re-issue The Zombie Bible
I am now in the preparations to re-issue The Zombie Bible independently. This will allow me to make it available in more formats to more readers; to commission cover art from my first-choice artist; and begin work on producing audiobooks by Amy McFadden, who has already done the beautiful audiobook narration for 'I Will Hold My Death Close.'
Let's do this! Help me release the Silver Edition of The Zombie Bible: the series corrected and issued in the way I have always wanted to issue it, the series brought to you the way you deserve. It is going to be very beautiful.

Audiobook Editions of all 5 Volumes of The Zombie Bible (with Amy McFadden)
This amount will ensure that independent audiobooks to go with the director's cut of The Zombie Bible are fully funded! My voice narrator is the wonderful Amy McFadden, who has already completed 'I Will Hold My Death Close'; her reading of it made me cry. You'll want these!
Top Secret
When we reach this milestone, something really amazing is going to happen -- for the books, for me, for my Patreon community, and for my daughters. I'll tell you a bit more about it as we get closer.
Graphic Novel Adaptation (with Siku)
A renowned and gifted artist (Siku, creator of 'The Manga Bible' and 'Drink It!') and I would like to raise the funds to issue an entirely independent graphic novel adaptation of 'Death Has Come up into Our Windows' -- and who knows? Perhaps the rest of the series. So if you believe in these books -- and in me -- spread the word!
Siku and I will share more details about this project in early 2016. Briefly, we plan to embark on a two-year (2016-2018), Patreon-funded, collaborative project -- and my Patreon members will get exclusive access to sketches, drafts, will have input into key decisions along the way, and will get some pretty incredible graphic novel related art and swag as we develop the project. It's a Big Project to fund independently -- in keeping with the risky, edgy nature of The Zombie Bible -- and we can only do it with your help!

About
STANT LITORE doesn’t consider his writing a vocation; he considers it an act of survival. As a youth, he witnessed the 1992 outbreak in the rural Pacific Northwest firsthand, as he glanced up from the feeding bins one dawn to see four dead staggering toward him across the pasture, dark shapes in the morning fog. With little time to think or react, he took a machete from the barn wall and hurried to defend his father’s livestock; the experience left him shaken.
Today he lives in Colorado with his wife and two daughters. Sometimes he lies awake beside his sleeping wife and listens in the night for any moan in the hills, but there is only her breathing, soft and full and a mystery of beauty beside him. He keeps his machete sharp but hopes not to use it.

PATREON: WHY WE'RE DOING THIS TOGETHER
Storytelling is a communal act. Our ancestors sat around a fire sharing tales and giving each other chills. Patreon is a way to use modern-day patronage to achieve that again. it means taking writing fiction from something that just happens on a dining room table to something that happens around a community fire or a community table, with boisterous laughter and shared tears. And that's how it should be.
If you're the kind of reader who has always wished you could sit down on a porch with one of your favorite writers to just listen to the rain and ask them that question you've always had or even just hear them spin out new ideas, then you belong here. That's the kind of connection I want with my readers; that's the kind of connection I want with you.
It is like a book club -- the best book club in the world, not only because you're getting regular new stories, but because you get to chat with the author all along the way.
Patreon provides a wonderful platform for this, and for inviting your support of my stories (in the form of monthly tips). When you become one of my Patreon members, you get backstage access to the stories I'm working on, and your patronage funds great new books like these -- and helps me keep them risky and independent, the way they should be!
Patreon is making it possible for me to spend more of my time and energy doing what matters most to me: creating great stories, and interacting with great readers.

WHAT WE'VE CREATED TOGETHER SO FAR:
The Zombie Bible (Silver Edition). This is a director's cut of my critically acclaimed retelling of biblical stories and church legends as moments in humanity's long struggle against hunger and the hungry dead. There are five volumes so far in this series (originally published 2011-2014), and through Patreon, we are funding an independent re-release of the series! The new editions feature the art of the amazing Lauren K. Cannon.

As you can see, the first two books are funded and out! We're now working on the next three volumes together. As for the beautiful art: in publishing, it's very rare for even the author to see drafts of the cover. Here at Patreon, I have a unique arrangement with the artist and we are sharing every sketch, every thumbnail, and every draft with my Patreon members! I often ask my members to vote on some of the options for the covers and to give their feedback and help me bring these stories (visually) to life!
The Ansible Stories. We're also funding an ongoing series about 25th-century explorers who transfer their minds across time and space and are marooned in alien bodies on alien worlds:

And Dante's Heart, a tale that, according to one reviewer, "is like Clive Barker, Octavio Paz, and Dante Alighieri are playing D&D together," featuring breathtaking artwork by Roberto Calas:

My Patreon community has also funded these two works of nonfiction:

And The Running of the Tyrannosaurs, a scathing tale of the entertainment industry gone wrong (and yes, there are dinosaurs):

We've also done a visit to a school for troubled teens in Atlanta, GA, with a gift of books and stories about living lives of unstoppable hope (you can read about the trip here):

Patreon has also funded my amanuensis's (assistant's) research, which makes it possible for me to "bench-press" a lot more research and power-write stories much faster. My patrons' support frees up so much time for my imagination to soar and my pen to scribble!
WHERE ELSE THE FUNDS GO...
Much of your Patreon membership goes directly toward funding more stories, including covering illustrations, editing costs, cover design -- all the costs of bringing you more great fiction.
Some is also put toward the expenses of keeping my disabled daughter Inara safe and well (you can read her story here; I publish mostly for her; her struggle beats at the heart of everything I write), and toward an annual donation to the Anchor Center for Blind Children, to give back to a wonderful organization that has done so much for my little girl, in hopes that they will be able to do so much for other children. I believe passionately that if you receive much, you should give much in return.
By an alchemy that is still wondrous to me, the steady presence of my Patreon members can be transformed into food on my daughters' table, medicines for Inara, and food for my heart on those late nights when I am at her bedside. Thank you all for being here, for reading the books, for contributing to keeping us on our feet. Your encouragement touches this writer and father deeply.Membership dues are monthly, and you can change them at any time.
