Just what is this show about?
In 2189, Earth narrowly won a war against extraterrestrials, but at a tremendous price. Two years later, in a distant patch of space, a mysterious explosion kills nearly the entire crew of the science vessel Starship Iris. The only survivor is Violet Liu, an intrepid, sarcastic, terrified biologist.

But as Violet struggles to readjust to life after the Iris, questions abound. Was that explosion really an accident? If not, just what is going on? And why does every answer seem to get more bizarre and more dangerous?

If Violet and her newfound allies want to untangle the truth, they’ll need courage, brilliance, and luck—and honestly, a couple of drinks.

The Strange Case of Starship Iris is a show about outer space, survival, espionage, resistance, identity, friendship, found family, romance, and secrets. (Also, there’s jokes.)

What brings you to Patreon?
It is very important to me to release the show for free. However, if I want to tell this story right (and I do), it's gonna need a sizable cast. I don't know my actors in real life; I can't ply them with baked goods or pay them in favors. If I can't fund the actors, I can't make the show. It's that simple.

I paid for the first episode myself, from compiling money my grandma gave me for a few different special occasions. But frankly, I only have so many birthdays (and so many grandmas) so that is just not a reliable funding model.

I'm new to Patreon; how does this work?
You pledge to pay a certain amount of money whenever a new episode comes out. You're only billed once that new episode is available. And in return, you access cool bonus content! Check the sidebar to the right and see if there's something you like.

How many episodes are you making?
I've already made eight episodes, and there are two more left in Season One.

Wait, would there be a second season?
Depends on the response to this season! I'd love to write one.

Goals
$1,256 of $1,750 per episode
SHOOT-FOR-A-DIFFERENT-AND-FARTHER-MOON STRETCH GOAL: thanks to you all smashing my expectations with your amazing generosity, I'm adding a new goal: three minisodes! These would be short episodes, probably about 15 minutes in length, featuring the characters of Starship Iris. They would be fully produced, just like a regular episode, and somewhat standalone.
