About

The 1st annual Steel Bridge Songfest took place in the summer of 2005 in the historic downtown district of Sturgeon Bay, a town of 10,000 in the heart of Door County, Wisconsin. That first festival, raising funds and awareness to save Sturgeon Bay’s iconic drawbridge from the wrecking ball, sparked a larger creative movement that would grow to encompass three annual collaborative songwriting events; thousands of live performances from hundreds of local, national and international musicians; and Steel Bridge Radio, an online station that exclusively plays the more than 1400 songs written and recorded at the Holiday Music Motel.

Steel Bridge Creative Foundation (formerly Citizens for our Bridge) is a not-for-profit (501(c)3) organization dedicated to preserving, promoting and supporting Sturgeon Bay’s historic Michigan Street Bridge and its historic surroundings, and to ensure that the creative flame lit by that first spark in 2005 will continue to burn brightly in our community and beyond for years to come.

And for this, we need your help! Your fully tax-deductible monthly contribution will ensure the ongoing viability and sustainability of the foundation’s work. Any amount you can comfortably afford will be gratefully received!
