You know how people say, "Oh, I'd love to write!"?

I said that off and on my entire life (well, since about 5 years of age). And my retort to myself was that if I really wanted to, I just would. I would find the time, I would make it a priority.

Shoot, I did that with designing knitting patterns, starting in 2009, and though I love making something pretty out of sticks and string, being a knitting designer hadn't been a lifelong dream like being a writer.

Then, last year, around March 2018, whatever switch switched, whatever had to click clicked, and I threw myself into writing. Classes, books, learning craft. And practicing. Writing short stories. I learned a new-to-me way of writing that removed the paralysis that my over-analytical, plan-everything-out brain had imposed. (Don't worry, I'll write essays about all of this!)

I've sold two stories so far to professional-paying markets (more on that, later, too!) and have multiple series in the works.

Meet:

Dinah, a half-Chinese, half white sorceress in the alternate world of the late 1800s Deseret Territory of the American Southwest. Weird and western.

Laila, a professional problem solver for the paranormal set in contemporary Los Angeles (along with her Peke puppy Daiyu, Djinn Oz, and not-sure-if-she's-human assistant Jack).

Jacie, a worlds-traveling explorer and naturalist, with her best friend Dr Dani Blackblood. Travel to strange and exotic worlds, full of magical creatures.
