Hola Amigos y Amigas!

Welcome to the next frontier of crowdfunding, the wellspring of sustainable art, philanthropy facelifted, however you name it, here it is, and I’m doing it with you. Patreon is an arena where people who want to help sustain my ability and freedom to create my art - what i want, when I want - freed from commercial directives, by paying me a small but important fixed amount of money per month.

For an overview of how Patreon works, there’s a great primer HERE. Essentially, you give Patreon your cc # (or Paypal), and you’re charged $2 (or more, if you choose) at the end of every month in order to support my various art-making processes. Your contribution also helps me cover my general costs-of-doing-business (studio, supplies, life).

My Patreon will be very transparent, divulging my working processes, thoughts on art, the why’s and how-come’s, and so forth. Excited to grow a dialogue with my community / tribe / patrons and keep crankin’ out art that makes people feel better.

As many of you know, I’m making the first fine artworks entirely out of nail polish! However, I’m supposed to say “nail lacquer” as it sounds more sophisticated. In truth, nail lacquer is an incredibly high-quality paint - a lacquer - which is not available in the state of California. No other paint has that buttery surface, or that amazing and odd palette. Plus the kitsch element is hilarious, ironic. However, when painting, the nail lacquer behaves like the most lush oils, so wonderful to work with, to swim with painting.
And yes, I mostly use the brushes provided, ideal for the task! For years I’ve admired women’s painted nails and thought, one day I’ll make a painting out of nail polish. Well recently I (sadly or not) did the math, and it seems I’ve only 10,000 days left or so, so I thought, why not now? Which begat the first nail polish painting of the bandaged black cat, and I was off to the races (sorry about the cliche, but it fits). I seem to have caught the cat and black bird viruses, and will be exploring these themes for some time.

Again, thank you for your support, please feedback, and enjoy the posts!
