Welcome to Stone Fox Studios!
This is the launching pad for a collaboration between two Visual Novel fans who have been working together for some time to accumulate the expertise to deliver one of our own.
The Team
Kentyrr is an artist, PC hardware enthusiast, and an avid streamer. He picked up DAZ 3D Studio back in April of 2020, and his tribute work and recent original characters are becoming well-known and acclaimed within the AVN community.
Stoya is network architect by trade, but has recently moved into python and storytelling. He has spent the last several months reverse-engineering successful efforts by other developers to learn what makes them compelling.
We both have "day jobs," but we spend a significant percentage of our free time developing. That said, we wanted to set realistic expectations. Our hope is that as we get more efficient with our process, we can get better at queuing art to render while we are away.
The Vision
Stone Fox Studios is united in their goal to provide a story experience built around nuanced characters and situations the player can invest in and relate to.
We are both perfectionists, but our "perfection" may not align with everyone's. We pledge to be faithful to our vision and deliver stories with arcs that are planned from the beginning, as opposed to "winging it as we go."
We commit to improving our skills and tool kits as we go, and reinvesting any proceeds from our efforts back into our product in the form of better rendering hardware, application licenses, assets, and music.
This is a labor of love for us, and we hope to prove that to our patrons with each update. We would do this for free if rendering hardware, electricity, and take out meals weren't so expensive!
The Project
Developing under code name "Chasing Sunsets," our debut project will be a story about estranged step-siblings in a blended family reconnecting following the untimely deaths of their parents.
The game will have multiple endings determined by the player's choices and behavior.
Our goal is to prime the game with a lengthy background intro to set the stage, and follow up with content updates at regular intervals.
The Commitment
While this is our first effort, we've been active VN community members for some time.
Like you, we have developed a list of things we admire and dislike about similar projects from other developers.
We promise:
-To never milk our patrons. If we ever pause development or take a break, we will immediately pause Patreon.
-To be respectful to the characters you become attached to. We will not shit on your investment by applying ugliness for shock value alone.
-To be transparent with our supporters about our plans, and to listen to their feedback.
-To not allow a vocal minority to hijack our vision and turn our games or art into a project-by-committee.
Thank you for your support. We will work every to remain worthy of it.
