Thank you for the strong support!
I'm a bookbinder that has dedicated himself to create artistic bindings inspired by masters of old. A time, where they managed to produce beautiful books that remain intact even centuries later. I admire the scale of these works, their rоugh structure, sincerity and undeniable toughness. Properties I strive to recreate in my personal work.
I've been producing bookbinding videos mainly to bring people closer to my finished work and to share the idea of how much and what type of work goes into them. I didn't except how many people had a first time experiencing the craft of bookbinding and feel inspired to create something of their own. An irony, given the fact I was the same way some years ago, searching for everything that could be of help to my new found interest.
The idea of providing educational content is a noble one but I've stayed away from it until now, because bookbinding is a full-time commitment for me and all my income comes from selling my work. I felt at odds spending time regularly on filming and editing educational videos for free. It would take time away from my main line of work, while remaining financially uncertain.
It's now evident that a large portion of my viewers are aspiring to pursue bookbinding as a hobby or something more and it would be a shame to neglect this fact. I plan on putting more effort into providing help for others but I would require your support in order for me to do this properly.
It would be a dream come true to create a space that inspires people and keeps the art and craft of bookbinding alive and well.
Thank you for taking the time reading my thoughts on the matter and supporting my work!
A page dedicated for my curated recipes and techniques and their application to the art of bookbinding.
