The 2019 San Jose Program

This is the worksheet used by the team, preparing for the 2019 San Jose Fit expo in San Jose, California. This program helped my athletes and me earn several USPA/IPL state, national and world records. Each lifter also posted personal best scores at this meet in at least one major category. Biggest improvement was a squat by the coed, 123lb, junior lifter, beating the world record by over 30 pounds and the 181lb, male lifter, hitting a 608lb deadlift.


The program encompasses 20 weeks, if you're looking to compete or 18 weeks if you want to progress to a new PR for squat, bench or deadlift.


Results will vary based on adherence to schedule, nutrition and exercise selection, as outlined in the program.


I will be adding additional tiers for program customization and additional assistance. For now, I'm simply making the program, in its entirety, available for self-consumption.

2019 Pre-Season Program

This is a 17 week program focused on foundational strength and muscle hypertrophy. After the team competed at the IPL Worlds in Las Vegas in 2018, this program was designed to help fill in gaps on strength and prepare for the 2019 season. The last couple of weeks taper into programming geared more for high intensity, strength-focused lifts.


Results will vary based on adherence to schedule, nutrition and exercise selection, as outlined in the program.

About Stronger You

Dave Murphy is a mentor in strength sports and an active strength practitioner within the United States Powerlifting Association and International Powerlifting League. Over the past five years of competitive powerlifting, Dave has demonstrated a fundamental knowledge of strength and discipline, personally achieving state, national and world records within the (IPL) and applying that knowledge to help those he coaches to achieve even greater success. Mr. Murphy and the team he trains have earned over 100 IPL records across male and female categories, across multiple age groups (junior, open, submaster and master) and weight classes spanning 114lb, 123lb, 148lb, 165lb, 181lb, 198lb and 242lb categories as well as raw and classic raw lifting.

Few strength coaches achieve this level of success with so many athletes in such a short amount of time. Dave understands the needs of work, family and a balanced life. His programming style stems from that personal insight. Unlike many elite athletes in social media, who spend 2-5 hours a day in the gym, hocking programming they don't even follow, Dave and his athletes average a scant 60 minutes and the content provided are the same plans he and the team follow.

Like many individuals, his life is full of the same constraints, family, 8-5 job, hour commute and personal time. This is reflected in the programming.
