Milestone Goals

$350 per month
My first goal I'd like to achieve with my Patreon is to acquire studio space where I can work more comfortably and keep my work life separate from home. Once this goal is reached, I will find studio space in Portland and keep my Patrons up to date on goings on in the studio, share pictures as I set up my space and an exclusive mini comic about the evolution of my creative spaces over the years, from my room back home to my work space in my first apartment to being a member of the Pony Club Gallery and my workspace there.

I've assessed this goal at $350 considering the kind of space I would like to work in, the average cost of studio spaces in Portland, the utilities, renter's insurance and other monthly expenses that go into renting a space, and although I would usually ride my bike to the space I might also drive on those extremely rainy Portland days. With $350 a month I would be comfortable in this potential studio space to work my best and feel confident enough to leave my work and possessions at the space.

Hi, my name is Jason Fischer! You might know me from my work with Bryan Lee O'Malley as art assistant to his most recent graphic novel Seconds. I drew backgrounds, food, monsters and did a little design work too. That was my introduction to the comic industry.

My work with Bryan on Seconds mostly concerned the backgrounds/environments/details
I have been color flatting Oni Press comics for a couple years now, from graphic novels to monthlies such as Joe Infurnari and Joshua Fialkov's The Bunker and Zander Cannon's Kaijumax. Recently I finished color flatting MK Reed and Joe Flood's upcoming graphic novel Dinosaurs. I am now beginning to venture towards coloring work; my first published comic as colorist was The Bunker #10 illustrated by Braham Revel.

I also create mini comics and zines in my free time, like the recently debuted Seconds Helping: A Drawing Assistant's Memoir Comic, about the time Bryan and I spent living and working together to complete Seconds

I try to work as much and as often as I can, putting my best foot forward. I have set up this Patreon as a means for reaching out for support on my creative works, any and all support is greatly appreciated! I will figure out some fun incentives for my supporters soon.
Thanks for reading!
