About

Convening our community takes time and energy that we are not paid for, so your thoughtful contributions allow us to continue this important work.  Consider this our "tip jar" allowing you to support our efforts on a continuous basis.

We are connecting Black women faculty and administrators with hiring leaders in an unprecedented way.  With your support on Patreon, we are able to successfully operate Black Women Faculty Connection including:

1. Curating a safe space for Black women faculty online, and serving as a collective voice supporting our needs publicly.
2. Screening group join requests in our facebook peer learning and support group for safety and security purposes.
3. Reviewing posts in our peer learning and support group for importance and relevance to Black women faculty.
4. Organizing group content according to priority topics for Black women faculty.
4. Developing occasional free resources here in Patreon to help you enter and advance in academia.
5. Fulfill administrative responsibilities in support of the Black Woman's Guide to Advancing in Academia.
6. Developing resources as necessary that advocate for Black women in higher education such as the Lookbook and press release on COVID-19 back to school preferences.

We appreciate your contribution and dedication to the Black Women Faculty Connection.  We are an inspirational community of Black women aspiring to and pursuing teaching and administrative roles in higher education.  We are dedicated to diversifying higher education by strengthening the presence of Black women in academia.

The Black Women Faculty (BWF) Connection and Black Woman’s Guide to Advancing in Academia (BWG) offer valuable guidance for early career, mid career, and tenure-track faculty, as well as graduate students and post-docs on the path to teaching at the collegiate level.  The content and discussions across multiple channels considers full-time, part-time, and online opportunities for entering and advancing in academia.

Continue aspiring to excel,
