Boat-builder, vlogger, blogger and author.

Break out of the rat race and start to live!! Sailing, exploring, experiencing - all in a self-built vessel - the ultimate adventure. I am building a Jay Benford designed, 31.8ft  junk-rigged schooner sailing dory to do just that. As I build, I'll video blog the entire process and describe how I get on, from the very beginnings of the boat build to completing the vessel, and attempt to show that anyone with a bit of handicraft ability and a place to construct can build a capable and affordable ocean-going craft.

I'm also running a website (link below) where I blog the build process and other related events, and am in the process of writing the story of other sailing adventures I've been involved in. There are also useful links to all of my videos, other builders' websites, and related equipment and information

Every penny or cent of your support will be used to buy gear for the build and recording of the process, and then, at the very least, to continue the writing/blogging/vlogging process and provide inspiration as I aim to show you how this boat, and the materials and processes used perform, and, as I continue to create writings that hopefully inspire others to realise that it's entirely possible to get out there and see things without the benefit of a well-stuffed bank account!. Thank you for your support!!

Tiers
Supporter
$1 or more per month
Supporters are kind souls who want to show their appreciation of the SV Tapatya video blogs and the Miss Molly I Adventures writings. Of course, they get access to our Patreon-only content.
Deckhand
$2 or more per month
  • Deckhands are good people who should know they're helping to make it happen. Deckhand patrons will receive a picture postcard of the boat at its state of build at the time. It should go without saying that they also get access to my Patreon only content.
Crew
$3 or more per month
The next level of SV Tapatya supporter - know you're doing a bit more to help it happen. Crew patrons will receive a picture postcard  of the boat at its state of build at the time with words of wisdom or nautical terminology. These lovely people, naturally, also get access to my Patreon only content.
Able Seaperson
$10 or more per month
The highest tier of supporter. Naturally, on enlisting,  Able Seapersons get a picture postcard of Tapatya in her current state of construction with nautical terminology, along with Patron-only content access. They will also receive further surprise merchandising items on continued patronage (6 months, 1 year, etc). Wait and see!!
Privateer
$50 or more per month

Well, why not!! All the advice says I should have such a tier, even though I'll be highly surprised if anybody signs up to it!

Privateers get all the benefits of other tiers plus whatever I can think of in the unlikely event of anybody becoming one :-)

Goals
$83 of $3,500 per month
New cambered junk sails for the boat - This is the main and most exciting goal for this project. 2 beautiful, new, professionally sewn, cambered junk sails will propel Tapaya effortlessly and cleanly through the waters as we sail, explore and report on the performance of the materials and technologies used
