Listen to the podcasts I host live as we record them! We will also have a chat open on Talking Games so you can interact with your fellow patrons! For Adventure I don't recommend it as its not the best way to listen but you will have the option (this is may be effected by tech limitations at times but I will always do my best)
Live Patron Chat Show
It was once called Brewed and Boarded and there was also Pints and Pixels, but instead of that we are just calling this the Live Patron Chat Show! Every month for an hour I will broadcast live and give you the chance to join in with me! Sometimes I'll have guests from the site and sometimes I won't but I promise at the very least you'll get to talk with me about whatever you'd like. (Note make sure you join the Discord server as we will using their video chat!)
The Bonus Podcast
I've tried and badly failed to bring you an extra episode of Talking Comics. Schedules and real life have kept us from doing that. So, instead of promising what I can't deliver. I'm promising one extra podcast a month with myself on it. 30-60 minutes of talk on a range of geek subjects. I will also take suggestions! My hope is to have someone on form the TC family but again I won't promise you anyone else's time.
PLUS all lower reward levels.
About Bobby Shortle
Hi, my name is Bobby Shortle and I have hosted over 500 episodes of podcasts!
I'm the founder of Talking Comics.
The current host of Talking Games and Adventure: An Actual Play Dungeons and Dragons Podcast.
Video Producer for Talking Games YouTube Channel
and a Freelance Filmmaker
I started Talking Comics back in September of 2011 with the intention of simply reviewing att DC New 52 titles along with Brad Jones, Steve Seigh and Brian Verderosa. What the site has blossomed into is amazing even to me.
TC has been around for nearly 7 years as a podcast and web site. We’ve grown from being a site that featured one weekly podcast and a few notable reviews to a full-fledged geek entertainment hub.
It was my dream for this Patreon to exist to reward the hard work that goes into the site and to be able to upgrade our podcast network’s equipment to continue to bring you all the best possible geek entertainment that's possible.
Thats still my hope, but I've realized that I need to hit a certain level on Patreon to achieve this lofty goal. The first goal is keeping the lights on. The podcasts cost about $100 a month to keep hosting, then there is the fees for the various services I use to ensure our team stays connected and that our videos look great. Then there is the hosting and fees for the websites which runs between $10-15 a month. The long and short of it is by the time we clear taxes it costs nearly $200 to just keep this enterprise going and with a new baby I need your help to make sure that keeps happening!
In the past I've promised content that included lots of people from our site. I can't do that anymore. Its not fair to them, but what I can promise is I will do my best to bring you extra stuff every month. However, I won't do some at the expense of growing the thing you are all here for in the first place. So I ask you to be patient with me as we grow.
My hope is this grows into something that can sustain me doing it full time and then moves to something where I can begin to pay the awesome contributors like Joey, Steve, Bob, and Huw who have worked so tirelessly to make this site great. Honestly it's not that far away of a goal!
You can help us make that happen with a small donation. If every single person who listened to the Talking Comics podcast network donated $1, we would be able to give our contributors a decent rate for their words.
The team we have is amazing and our community is amazing. In all of this time, we've kept the site and the podcast ad-free because I believe in our passion project and we want to share it with the world without compromise.
If you enjoy what we do, please support us.
