Welcome everyone! Thank you to those who made the trek over to Patreon from Instagram or other social media outlets, I very much appreciate your support.

My name is Liz Kleinrock, and for the past ten years I've been developing anti-bias and anti-racism work with youth of all ages. I'm a South Korean-born, DC-raised, cisgender, Jewish woman of color, currently residing in Los Angeles, California. I'm a classroom teacher, and lead workshops and trainings for educators, parents, and family members who are looking to engage with youth around issues of race, gender, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Despite my years of experience, educating oneself on these issues is a spectrum with no end, and I am constantly seeking to improve and deepen my own understanding.

I started my Instagram in the fall of 2017 because I was looking for a way organize my anti-bias work and equity work with students, and figured I should create a separate space away from my personal account. It's been less than two years, and it never ceases to amaze me that I've found such an incredible community of educators, students, parents, family members on this journey. In 2018, I was honored to receive Teaching Tolerance's Award for Excellence in Teaching and in 2019 was privileged to give a TED Talk, "How to teach kids to talk about taboo topics." Some of my writing on equity issues in education can also be found here

Work around diversity, equity, and inclusion can be uncomfortable, challenging, and difficult to navigate. I hope everyone remembers that this work is an on-going spectrum, and all people begin and move along different places, at different speeds. There is no finish line to cross. Be compassionate with yourselves, expect and inspect your mistakes, and always strive for deeper understanding.

I've enjoyed creating and sharing anti-bias and anti-racism resources for classroom teachers and adults who interact with children in order to cultivate equitable and inclusive environments, and I hope that this new community serves as a space for folx to continue their learning. My goal is for this work to expand beyond my classroom and school community, and for that to sustainably happen, I would greatly appreciate your support.
