My name is Paul Duke, and I'm an English Instructor in Vancouver, Canada. I've been teaching international English-as-a-Second Language students for many years, and have recently begun transforming my lessons and techniques into a video series called English Weirdness.

In this series, I explore the irregular, strange, and mysterious features of the English language, the type that textbooks, and many teachers, don't seem to explain, but which persistently bedevil language learners the world over. I strive to make our videos both educational and entertaining. With a growing global audience of English-hungry students, I believe this series has the potential to help English learners (and teachers) worldwide better understand and develop their English knowledge and skill.

The costs associated with producing this series however, in both resources and time, constrain our ability to produce them. These videos are made by a working teacher and volunteering students, on their own limited time and dime. Although we have received some support already, this alone is not enough to elevate this project to its potential. So, we are reaching out to our audience for financial help.

If you are among those who feel English Weirdness is a worthwhile project, and would like to support our efforts to keep making them available to you, please consider donating here. Any and all money you pledge will go to paying for equipment, feeding the volunteer performers, and improving the quality of the videos and their distribution. You can pledge as little or as much as you like: CAD $5, $10, $20 or more would be tremendous support for this project.

All funds will be applied directly and exclusively to the production and distribution costs of this project. Larger donors will be given IMDB.com video credit as Executive Producers; given that each episode costs approximately $500 to produce. In whatever way you can, please consider supporting our project. Even donations of $5 help us a lot and ensure we can continue to Spread the Weirdness Worldwide.
