Welcome to Year Two of Pomonok Entertainment, where nuanced female characters come standard.

Pomonok Entertainment is a production company with a dual mission: create quality, inclusive narrative content (across multiple mediums) while being of service to those experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles.

As a Patron, you become a member of Team Pomonok, and your monthly support will go directly toward the content we create and our efforts to support existing organizations that have expertise and experience in working with the homeless community. In return, you'll receive advance access to the kind of inclusive, creative, and thought-provoking content you want to see in the world along with some fun rewards, and the knowledge that you're supporting a company that's about more than just trading money for content. We're looking to leave the world a little better than we found it.

What Are You Supporting?

The Content:
While we primarily make narrative filmed content, we want to create a variety. That's why we're Pomonok Entertainment and not "Pomonok Films" or "Pomonok Studios." We want to create content that entertains (and maybe even enlightens) you, regardless of medium or genre.

Here's our slate for 2019:
Homeward L.A. (theater performance): COMING SOON. April 2019.
Giving Up the Moon (narrative short film): PRE-PRODUCTION.
A Better World (narrative short film): PRE-PRODUCTION.
Incredible Girl (half-hour TV dramedy): PITCHING.
Finding Felicity (podcast): CURRENTLY IN S1. Available on iTunes, Stitcher, and Spotify.
The Waystation (a filmed sci-fi transmedia story): ONGOING. Check out Pt. 1 HERE.

Here are planned projects in the pipeline:
Leather & Love (podcast)
Untitled Sherlock Holmes Podcast
Rio Piedras (comic)
The Pomonok Podcast (centering the voices of marginalized creators)
Pomonok Magazine (a digital publication also centering marginalized voices)
Geek Girl Traveler (a female-led, pop culture-focused travel docuseries)

The Mission:
I've always wanted to create a company through which I could tell and create inclusive stories while also helping people in need. Pomonok Entertainment is the realization of that dream.

At this stage, my goal is to incorporate the mission of alleviating and ending homelessness into each of my projects through methods including, but not limited to: encouraging an ethos of social activism among members of Team Pomonok; organizing group volunteering at partner homeless advocacy organizations; incorporating line items into our budgets for donations to these organizations; donating surplus craft services to food pantries and shelters; and donating a portion of any profits we make to existing organizations that have expertise and experience in working with the homeless community

Yes. This is a for-profit endeavor. It's just that our company mission is to use those profits to help others, not just ourselves. I'm one of those silly people who believes that it's possible to make money and still be kind and socially responsible; to have that feeling of responsibility for our fellow human beings baked into a company's DNA.

The Dreamer:
I'm Teresa Jusino, and I'm a writer/producer. You may know me for my work as an Assistant Editor over at The Mary Sue. You might remember me as That Girl Who Did the Doctor Who Reviews on Tor.comI've made a career writing about other creators and analyzing other people's stories for outlets like Latina MagazineSlateNewsaramaPink Raygun, and PopMatters, as well as print anthologies like the Hugo Award-nominated Chicks Unravel Time: Women Journey Through Every Season of Doctor Who and Chicks Dig Gaming: A Celebration of Gaming By the Women Who Love It (both from Mad Norwegian Press).

Now, I'm creating my own. Join me.
