At the borderlands of truth and fiction, dreams and nightmares, you’ll find a rusty, bullet-riddled road sign that reads Welcome to Texas.

Atmospheric, scripted, and informative, Tex Arcana is equal parts museum and mausoleum. Each episode explores an obscure slice of Texas legend and digs deep to unearth the historical and cultural truths beneath.

We want to share our passion for history and storytelling in a way that anyone can enjoy, whether they’re a lifelong Texan or just passin’ through.

If you love history or just like a good campfire tale, our porch is always open, y’all.

Why Patreon?

Producing this podcast is a labor of love for us and we truly enjoy every second of it, but it still takes hundreds of hours of research and writing just to make a single episode. Both of us work fulltime day-jobs and spend the rest of our time working freelance and contract gigs to pay the bills. That means we’re only able to work on Tex Arcana in our (rare) spare time or when we probably ought to be sleeping.

We want to produce the best content we possibly can—creations we can be proud of—as thoroughly researched and as well-written as we can manage. In order to do that, we need all the spare time we can get.

The more support we have from you and other kind folks here on Patreon, the less time we’ll have to spend doing side-gigs to pay the bills, and the more time we’ll have to make Tex Arcana. Not only will that enable us to put more time into every episode, it will also allow us to produce them more frequently. (Not to mention the opportunity to produce more exclusive content for our patrons.)

If you have the means to help us out, we cannot thank you enough.

If not, you can still support us by spreading the word, rating/reviewing us on iTunes, or just by listening. Tex Arcana is a passion project for us. And as you can probably guess from our chosen careers in art and history, we don’t do this for the money. We do this because we love it and we hope you love it too.
