That Kind of Nerd was created by CJ Mellon and Brian Thornton. Along with our friend Josh Burns, we create a weekly podcast about nerd culture.

We are taking back the word “nerd”, which we don't consider a negative moniker in any way. Rather, we nerds are subject matter experts in a myriad of fields, certainly not confined to the "typical" comic books, movies, or technology

We started That Kind of Nerd with our friends as a way to reach out to other nerds and create a community.

That Kind of Nerd Podcast

That Kind of Nerd Podcast started out as a podcast where Brian and CJ could talk to their friends about whatever was on our minds or going on in the world of nerd culture. Josh Burns joined the team and made us much more focused on talking about the topics that matter the most to you. New episodes of That Kind of Nerd Podcast go up every Monday on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play Music, and our Website. We do reviews of the latest comic books, films, TV Shows. We have discussions on fun and interesting technology developments and much more. Every month we showcase the “Blockbuster” where we give our gut reactions to what movies are coming to a theatre near you.

Why do you need help?

The reality of it is, to be blunt, we can't continue without your support. We don't like cramming our website with ads or having sponsors you don't care about on our podcast. We also want to grow and expand to new projects. We're always talking about new ideas that we just don't have the time or resources to accomplish right now. We have ideas for new shows, we want to work with local comic-book shops, start doing YouTube Videos and much more. You can help those concepts become a reality!
