About Cassidy Cash

Hello my fellow Shakespearean,

Welcome! I'm Cassidy Cash, host and producer of That Shakespeare Life, the podcast that goes behind the curtain and into the real life and history of William Shakespeare. Since launching That Shakespeare Life in July 2017, from my aunt's apartment in Sao Paulo,Brazil (Pro Tip: whenever possible, make all major life decisions close to the ocean), I’ve been thrilled to see how many people enjoy the show. I have been absolutely delighted to watch the history we share travel to homes, offices, kitchens, and classrooms around the world. Each week listeners tune in to hear me chat with celebrated authors, historians, archaeologists, and other experts in turn of the 17th century England the way Shakespeare would have lived it – a testament to just how much fun this time period is, and how popular it continues to be for Shakespeare & history fans worldwide.

Our show has always been a free show, but that hardly means it is without costs to create. From researching the history, producing, hosting, editing, and the time I put into working on it, there's software, equipment, website hosting, audio hosting, tons of books, and so much more, not to mention the time I spend working on it!

Over the last five years our little show really has become a globally recognized professional brand. Only this year, we were ranked the #2 Shakespeare history podcast in the world right after Folger Shakespeare Library! How incredible is that? While we are over the moon about the accolades, the reality is that we can't sustain all the operations it takes to create a professional show and distribute it worldwide without some financial support.

As a business model, I would prefer That Shakespeare Life to remain a free podcast with no sponsorships or commercials, but that's only possible if listeners like you sign up to support us here on Patreon. I have seen firsthand the power of the Shakespeare and history community, so I know if we band together, we can create something really great. (maybe even become the #1 history podcast in the world! Who knows?!)

If you love the podcast, Shakespeare history, and would like to support the work I do in our online Shakespeare community, (I’m also the founder and host of the youtube show DIY History), I would be so grateful. As a patron, you get access to our entire community where you can not only network with others in this space, but you get insider access to the history that goes into each show, digital downloads, and our monthly book club! It's a fun place to be, there's tons of extra history to be explored inside, and you have the joyous satisfaction of knowing you are a vital part of making sure That Shakespeare Life continues for years to come.

Please join our little Shakespeare history community by becoming a Patron today.

All my best,
Cassidy
