Around since the last millennium, I'm an author, opinionist, curmudgeon, open sourcerer, Red Hatter, {gender,race,belief}-ignoring humanist, SF-reading, D&D & videogame-playing genius (or so I hear). My SBH of more than three decades is much smarter than I. My beard is older than a lot of my colleagues.

I work for an open software company (Red Hat, Inc.), but I also hack on code for fun. I also mentor/teach/present and write technical books about software.
My software is probably not going to save the world -- but I do hope it'll make it a better place, and prove useful to those who are saving the world.
