Welcome to my Patreon Community!

My name is Thea Monyee´ and I am the creator/facilitator of The Innerground Railroad: A Psycho-Spiritual Framework for Black Folks' Reclamation of Joy & Pleasure. I am a self identified Black Woman Creative and licensed therapist, native to Los Angeles, CA. Most of you likely stumbled across my work on expansion, identity, diversity & inclusion, and healing through joy, pleasure, and decolonization through my performance poetry, podcasts, or live workshops/presentations. However our paths crossed, I am grateful you are here with me.

My body of works spans nearly two decades and across diverse mediums. My 2002 television debut on HBO's Def Poetry Jam launched me into continued radio and television appearances, nationwide corporate and college tours, and the release of my poetry cd on ITunes, In/Tuition. Over the years my work became more intimate as motherhood and traveling led me on a journey of self-healing I have shared with the world through my writing, stage plays, and more recently on my podcasts Dem Black Mamas and All Heart. I pursued and obtained my M.S. in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, and have worked in community mental health since 2005. My experiences serving those most impacted by systemic oppression influenced my unyielding commitment to dismantling systems of oppression through art, activism, and advocacy, while healing and empowering those affected through joy, pleasure, and the decolonization of social spaces; physically, spiritually, psychologically, and emotionally.

The unapologetic work I create has impacted thousands, and with your support we can shift that number to millions.  So far the work I've created has been done while working full time. Your patronage will provide me with the resources, and more importantly, the time to continue to create transformational content that is accessible, intentional, and applicable across the identity spectrum.
