Hi. I'm Sean L. McCarthy, the founder and editor of thecomicscomic.com, your definitive guide to comedy and comedy news since 2007.

I'm finally launching a podcast so you can hear all the great inside stories I've been hearing from comedians and entertainers over the past decade and a half. Last Things First asks comedians and funny people about the historic lasts and firsts in their lives as their comedy careers have blossomed. From young people with dreams to adult people living those dreams. Or still dreaming. Questions both big and small are asked and answered. Hopefully you'll find it both amusing and illuminating.

The podcast launched in July 2015, with new episodes coming twice a week (Mondays and Thursdays).

Here are some early testimonials from the funny people who've appeared on Last Things First already...

Pete Holmes called me "the Ewok of comedy."
Marc Maron: "It's up! Finally!"
Horatio Sanz: "I love this."
Paul Scheer: "Sean take his interviews seriously This is one of the best/most researched interviews I've done. Listen"
Mary Mack: ".@thecomicscomic has patience! Pod starts @SweetleafLIC (great Jo), moves outside @creekandcave, gets rained on..."
Brian Posehn: "This is one of my favorite interviews I've ever done. Short and sweet."

The podcast is free, of course. But creating professional shows costs money. Not only the basic hosting of the content, but also the producing and post-production costs per episode, as well as the professional musicians (Camille Harris and Shockwave) and web designers (Gigglechick) I've hired to work with me. And professional artists should be compensated for their work. We're all in this together.

Please become a paid subscriber of my podcast, Last Things First, via Patreon.com, and I'll give you bonus audio content, newsletters and more that other listeners aren't getting for free. It'll be worth your time and investment. Thanks!

Receive a weekly email newsletter with behind-the-scenes stories from my podcast interviews, plus exclusive insight into all of the stories I've published and am working on for The Comic's Comic. I've never sent out an email newsletter. You'll be the only ones to receive it.

Do you like my long-running profile series, Meet Me In New York? http://thecomicscomic.com/category/meet-me-in-new-...

I'm now recording these Q&As, and while anyone can read them for free at the link above, I'll be sending you the audio interviews as Patreon exclusives so you can hear comedians in their own words describe what it was like for them to move to New York City to make it big in the big city. Trust me. It's so much more fun listening to them tell it.

I may claim to be The Comic's Comic, but I'm not the only one. You can make that claim, too. And what better way to do so than with a shirt that says you are The Comic's Comic?!
