About The Composer Chronicles

Hi! I'm Stephen Trygar! I am the founder of Alexandrian Media, a multi-media production company dedicated to bringing art, culture, and history into the modern era. This page is dedicated to the podcast The Composer Chronicles and its affiliate products:
  • The Composer Chronicles, a podcast that delves into the stories of composers past and present and their works. Each episode focuses on a particular work by the featured composer and examines their life during the time the piece was written and performed. Through these tales, you're invited to explore each composers' legacy and their impact in keeping the world entertained. Once a month, a living composer will be a featured guest, sharing their own stories.
  • UnscriptedThe Composer Chronicles’ younger sibling. Unscripted is a monthly, member-only podcast on Patreon. Every month, I talk about my opinions on the works that month. my reasoning behind why I chose the content I did, and some things about the pieces or composers that didn’t get to become part of the episodes.
  • Tales of Love, Loss, Magic, and Reality: Setting the Stage for Opera and Ballet, a book anthology aimed at familiarizing its readers with the operas and ballets of history's musical masters.
As a historical musicologist, my mission has always been to make classical music more accessible. I started off my journey making one-minute informational videos on my Instagram page about pieces of music. While returning to school to get my M.M. in Music History from Temple University, the videos fell to the wayside until I graduated. Once graduated, my videos turned into a blog on my personal website; however, after about a year, I realized that I wasn't getting my message across the best way I could, so I began dedicating my time to writing my anthology and then a podcast later on. Now, I'm exactly where I want to be, and I will continue to grow my message every day to ensure that art, culture, and history are part of us no matter how old they are.

When I reach 30 patrons, I will release the first (hopefully of many) fully produced an audio "drama" of a composer's life. Patreon subscribers can vote for which composer!
