The Fandom Show is a crash course in popular culture hosted by Kyah Green and Stephanie Malek. From prestige TV to RPGs, space races to drag races, collecting sneakers to catching pokemon, there is no shortage of things in this world to get excited about. The Fandom Show talks to fans, hobbyists and professionals about their fandoms; why they love it, how they love it, and all the bizarre little details only a true fan would know. Strap in for an hour of unadulterated joy and insightful conversation about what it means to be a fan.

What are we making? Thank you for asking!

The Fandom Show is a podcast that comes out once every two weeks. We think anything can be a fandom and our episodes reflect that - everything from BTS, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Star Trek, Golden Girls to Clocks, Mechanical Keyboards, and even Space.

We've been blessed with some incredible and iconic guests including David Hayter (Screenwriter of Watchmen, X-Men and Voice of Solid Snake), Sam Maggs (writer The Fangirls Guide to the Galaxy, Call of Duty, Captain Marvel, the manga adaptation of Fangirl), Ann Pornel (host of The Great Canadian Baking Show), Anthony Oliveira (writer for Marvel Comics), Tricia Black (actor on Pretty Hard Cases) among many other incredible creators and comics.

The Fandom Show finds funny, nerdy fans and gives them 60(ish) uninterrupted minutes to explain everything they love about their fandom - the content (Were the Matrix sequels good?), the fans (are Drag Race fans really that toxic?), the trivia (Did you know Viggo broke two toes?) the inside jokes (Did you know Viggo broke two toes?), the rules (BTS is seven) and the arguments (Did Han shoot first?). Our guests aren't experts, academics or celebrities. Better than that; they're hardcore fans.

Why did we start a Patreon?

Our podcast is free for you to listen to, and we love it that way! That being said, fandom costs money - we spend several hours on each episode for you but we also have full time jobs as writers and producers of other things - Patreon is the only way we make money on this endeavor. We pay for hosting, equipment, and eventually one day hopefully our guests who are currently sharing their love for free! Patreon gives you a chance to be a part of that in exchange for lovely goodies which vary based on your Patreon level but include patron-only podcast episodes, random goodies in the mail, our monthly Nerdsletter and early access to our episodes!

Who are we?

We're Steph Malek (she/her) and Kyah Green (they/them) and we're fans. From spider-men to magical girls, from dragons to drag, we love to nerd-out on a whole host of different subjects. Fandom has been a big part of our lives individually and as a couple (which we are) and we want to celebrate the joy of loving art, stories, sports, music, literature and basically everything - just because it's fun. That's why we've created The Fandom Show.

We first met at a trivia night, where Steph (sort of) tricked Kyah into producing a live read-through and singalong of the Buffy musical, Once More With Feeling. Since that fateful (and 6 times sold out) performance, we have dedicated ourselves to creating nerdy and queer events, such as Night at the Bronze, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Sing Along, as well as creating Nerdin Trivia at Storm Crow Manor and now... thanks to our partnership with the From Superheroes network...THIS!
