Access to my activity feed where I'll post additional content and have discussions about gaming and life.
You'll also get access to podcast episodes of Ego Check with The Id DM as soon as they are edited, before they are posted publicly.
I'll follow you on Twitter (if that's your thing) and give you a shout-out at the end of my next blog article for being a supporter. I will also link to your site or project of your choosing.
All previous rewards.
For each pledge at this level, I will support another Patreon of my choice to further the love for original creators of gaming materials. You'll have the knowledge that you're supporting my work AND the work of others in the community. It's a bucket full of WIN!
All previous rewards.
Back in 2011, I started writing my blog, The Id DM, because I could not find the type of articles I wanted to read about gaming. I wrote primarily on tabletop roleplaying games such as Dungeons & Dragons from my perspective as a licensed psychologist. I've been writing about D&D and other gaming adventures for over five years now, and I invested a good deal of time and energy to interview prominent members of the RPG community such as Monte Cook and Mike Mearls. I was fortunate enough to win Stuffer Shack’s 2012 RPG Site of The Year award, and have grown a nice following to my blog and Twitter feed.
In recent years, I expanded the scope of the content I offer through The Id DM, including a personal history of my relation to the Star Wars franchise and videos about the collectible card game, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft. I want to put more time into the creation of gaming articles and videos in addition to launching into some new areas, such as streaming and podcasting.
These ideas will take time and resources, and I am honestly unsure if there is a sufficient audience for my content.
Which is why we're here! Patreon is a platform that allows YOU to pledge a dollar amount of your choice each month in return for rewards. If you support my efforts with a pledge, then it is tangible feedback that someone is out there enjoying the content I create! And as more people pledge, I'll be able to hit my milestone goals to do more dynamic things like host an interview podcast series and stream games while fielding questions from viewers on all manner of subjects on gaming and psychology! This dates me, but I foresee a world where I'm the Frasier Crane (or Dr. Drew perhaps for those of you that are younger than me) of gaming.
All of the money pledged will go directly into the creation of new content along with better equipment and improved Internet access so I can do things like podcast and steam games.
I'm excited to see what we can turn this into! As a creator, I thrive on feedback, so please contact me with ideas or questions. Thank you for your time and consideration.
I sincerely appreciate your time and support!
