Something we've being chatting about doing for a long time is our very own fortnightly podcast. And if we reach this stage that exactly what we plan on doing. With not only members of our own team but also fellow YouTubers, streamers, developers, games journalists and even members of the community joining us as guest presenters.

Hello. And welcome to the Killer Bits.
If you've found your way here to our Patreon page you are probably familiar with who we are and what we do but if not allow me to introduce ourselves.

We are a the Killer Bits. A group of friends and YouTubers based here in the UK (and Norway) creating a whole host of content over on our channel - youtube.com/thekillerbits. What started as just a simple idea for a magazine format show, poking fun at all the latest news and reviews in the world of gaming has turned into its own digital beast. A channel that takes a look at everything from the latest AAA titles to those small indie games that might have pass you by. We attempt to cast a critical eye and razor's edge tongue across them all and present them to you with our own particular brand of humor.

We love what we do. We love playing games and being able to make videos about them for you guys. So that we can, not only, share our thoughts with you our audience but also (hopefully) entertain and inform you aswell. But unfortunately one of the great poets of our time may have been slightly underselling it when he said "All you need is love".

Apparently you can't pay for your groceries with good feelings. Your landlord doesn't accept hugs & kisses in lieu of rent. And the taxman certainly doesn't like it when you try and fill in your self assessment with hearts & flowers.

Apparently all you need is love ...and money. And this where Patreon steps in.

So why Patreon?
So you are probably asking yourself - what has this got to do with me and what the hell is Patreon? Don't all YouTubers get tons of money from Google ad revenue?

Well the simple answer is - No. YouTube ad revenue is pretty tiny and insignificant unless happen to be one of those channels lucky enough to have 100s of thousands (if not millions) of subscribers. For smaller channels like ourselves it is a constant struggle trying to balance the time that is required to create awesome content for you guys with need to work "real jobs" in order to pay the bills.

Patreon helps shift that balance a little by allowing fans to directly support the content creators they love with small donations which allows them spend more time creating and less time worrying about bills.

So is this going to turn into a “pay wall”?
There's an easy answer for that – No.

We are going to carry on making videos free for everyone who wants to watch them over on YouTube. This is simply a way for fans to help support the channel if they want to and can maybe afford to give us a couple of dollars a month.
