Support THE KOREA FILE, a monthly podcast of conversations with leading academics, journalists and musicians from around the peninsula and the world.  This show is designed to share the history, culture and indie music of this (little-understood, much-loved) country!

UPDATE: I'm now hosting and producing the second season of 'ké cast' in collaboration with Korea Exposé (koreaexpose.com), an independent media organization that speaks to a global audience about the Koreas in a way that goes beyond cliché and superficial analysis.  Look for new episodes of 'ké cast' at the beginning of each month through 2018.

Since 2014, each of The Korea File's 75 episodes have been released across multiple platforms free of charge to broaden awareness of Korea, its history and its people. But it takes a lot of work to track down interviews, research, edit and produce. My goal is to PROFESSIONALIZE this podcast and turn it into a SUSTAINABLE INITIATIVE.

For just the price of a TOM-AND-TOM'S LATTE, you can be part of taking The Korea File to the next level!

Patrons get perks: a contribution of just $4/month gives you access to BONUS CONTENT like extended interviews and subscriber-only links. For $10/month you'll receive access to bonus content and be able to WRITE IN QUESTIONS for upcoming episodes.

Here's my background: in six years on the peninsula, I explored Ansan ('06-'07), Gimhae ('07-'08), Suwon ('08-'09), Seoul ('09-'11) and Jeju Island ('14-'15) on a day-to-day basis.  I've also traveled extensively all around the country.  Since coming back to North America, The Korea File has been produced in collaboration with The Nam Center for Korean Studies at the University of Michigan, the Michigan Korean Weekly newspaper and with MiAsian magazine.

You can find more of my work at Ricochet Media (ricochet.media), Canada's leading bilingual progressive public-interest journalism organization, where I host 'Unpacking the News' (voted Best in Podcasting at the 2017 National Campus and Community Radio Association awards) and facilitate a community of Left podcasts for Ricochet's billingual, pan-Canadian podcasting network (ricochet.media/en/podcast).

Thanks for listening, and look for a new episode of 'ké cast' at the beginning of each month.  Your support helps keep this show on the air.
