Hi, I'm Andrea. I'm a child/servant of God, a wife, and a mom. God has blessed me with an intense desire for loving human connection. The internet is a great tool for this! I would know because it was through the internet that dozens of friends were able to respond to my cry for help. Maybe it was "just words" but the love they sent me pulled me out of the darkness I was in.

I had dealt with mental health issues since childhood. I naively thought I was pretty much done with that chapter of my life since I finished treatment and had found Jesus. So I was blindsided when it came back worse than ever in 2018. I felt like a burden to the world. I felt like everyone's lives would be better if I wasn't here. But then I realized that even though I felt like like the most worthless person in the world, simply existing as I am would be better for my husband and children than letting them think I abandoned them. Then I thought how it would affect everyone who knows me if I was to decide I don't belong here. Existing in my seemingly worthless state would be less of a burden on the world than not existing. But the flip side is that means I actually make the world a better place simply by existing! That means I'm not worthless! I'm actually quite important!

It was after this inner conversation that I started opening up about my true feelings. If I am going to exist, then I might as well make the best of it.

I often feel lost, confused, & unsure but doing all that I can to trust God helps me more than anything ever could. I kept talking to Him and keeping my heart open to Him. I kept reading the Bible. Suffering helps us relate to Jesus' suffering. Suffering in this life and choosing to trust God anyway (just like Jesus did) strengthens us and is how God shows His glory!

I'll be totally honest with you. When I started YouTubing, my goal was to make money! I thought I could do it by vlogging because I'm good at talking. Then I started doing eating videos and those were getting a lot of views but they were also getting a lot of hate. I did my best to not let the hate get to me but it did. A lot of people were rude and some people were downright nasty to me. I didn't give up but it did slow me down.

Out of respect to you, my channel is no longer monetized, I turned off the superchat feature, and I no longer ask for donations. All I want is the chance to connect with you.

Now I mainly share ukulele covers, Bible reading livestreams, and whatever else brings me peace and joy at YouTube.com/thelaidbackhomemaker.

I also share Bible verses, inspirational quotes, and pictures and video clips of me and my family at Instagram.com/thelaidbackhomemaker and in my Facebook group, Friends of The Laid-Back Homemaker, at facebook.com/groups/371420263459188/

Anyway, if you're here and you're reading this then that means you care a lot about me and what I do. There is absolutely no obligation or expectation for you to do anything for me. But if you feel compelled to support my content, please like, comment, share/shout me out, follow/subscribe! It honestly means a lot to me. If you feel compelled to go above and beyond and you believe it would be better for some of your money to become some of my family's money, even one dollar, then, by all means, go for it! I am overwhelmed by your generosity. And it humbly moves me to keep being the best I can be and keep sharing my life with others via the internet.

I'd like to celebrate your support with a monthly patron-only livestream! Once we have five patrons, we will vote on a day of the week and a time that works best for the most people. I'll start doing the monthly livestream and set a new community goal!
