I'm a writer, editor, history nerd, frustrated grunge singer and amateur baker from Staffordshire, UK. A recent immigrant to rural Nottinghamshire, I live in a very old house (sadly not haunted), and I'm still regarded in the village as a foreigner.

Formerly the editor of Games Workshop’s White Dwarf magazine, I'm still designing tabletop games (including The Walking Dead: All Out War, and Broken Legions) as well as being an author of strange, fantastical and macabre tales. His first Apollonian Casefiles books – The Lazarus Gate and The Iscariot Sanction – are out now, published by Titan Books.

Here's the thing: I'm a full-time freelancer, which means I have to prioritise those jobs that pay, so that I can do basic stuff like eat, pay the bills, and feed my over-large Hound of the D'Urbervilles, #bdog. That means all the stuff that I'd love to do more of, like writing new warbands for Broken Legions, sorting out the FAQs for Chosen Men, doing interviews about the Walking Dead and Harry Potter, devising brand new games, writing short stories, etc., all get put on the back-burner, because they simply don't pay. That's where Patreon comes in. If people throw a few pennies my way, I can actually afford to set part of my working schedule aside to do these things, and support the games that people love!

Eternal Thanks
$1 or more per month 0 patrons
Okay, maybe not 'eternal' per se, but I'll definitely be grateful. Every little helps, and all that. It all goes in the kitty to help me keep blogging, designing, and writing.
More thanks, and...
$10 or more per month 1 patron
even more gratitude than the previous pledge level. I'll also give you a shout out on the blog (http://thelostvictorian.blogspot.co.uk/) for being an absolutely sterling fellow! And of course, once I hit my monthly goal, I'll be able to create that all-important content.
Splendid!

Huzzah! This is a splendid way to show your support, as it puts me well on target for my monthly goal. For this you get a shout-out on the blog, plus a special tank you in whatever work I create as a result of your kind patronage.  Not only that, but I'll make sure you get an advance copy (for free, naturally) of this month's work.
Games Design Tier
$75 or more per month 0 of 2 patrons
This guarantees that I can set aside some time to support one of my existing games - a new warband/posse/fleet list, hired guns/auxilia, new scenarios, adding to the errata and FAQs if required, blogging about the games, and so on. Not only that, but patrons at this level can also make requests! Tell me what you'd like to see next, and I'll see what I can do.* You'll also get it in advance, for your feedback if you like.

This tier is limited, because there are only so many such things I can do in an average month.

* I can't commit to doing this with licensed product such as The Walking Dead, Batman, Harry Potter, etc., for obvious reasons.
Creative Writing
$200 or more per month 0 of 1 patrons
This is where it gets exciting. This tier guarantees that that I'll produce an original short story. Maybe it'll be set in one of my original worlds (like the Apollonian Casefiles, or even one of my game settings like Broken Legions or Legends of the Old West). Maybe it'll be a one-shot, like my Ghost Writer novelette.

Patrons at this reward level will not only get a special thanks in the book itself, but will also have a character named after themselves or a loved one in the story! I'll be sure to send you this new story directly, free of charge. After patrons have received the story, it'll go live on Amazon and Smashwords.
Goals
$9 of $25 per month
At the very least, I can carry on blogging about all the stuff my fans love - fiction, tabletop gaming, the freelance industry, Victoriana... even baking if you really fancy it!
