The New Hoosier Broadcasters are a Southern Indiana based Traditional String Band that has traveled the US learning tunes and songs from some of the masters of Rural American music. Their music is steeped in mountains, moonshine, and rural life. They have been playing together as a band since 2014 and meet up weekly in Bloomington, IN for tunes and a few beers.

The band consists of Ben Thompson on fiddle and vocals, Danny Weddle of guitar, fiddle, and vocals, Jack Laskey on banjo and guitar, and Chet Gray on bass and vocals.

The New Hoosier Broadcasters released their debut album, The River is Whiskey, in October of 2016. The album is mostly made up of tunes they learned from their main sources, Brad Leftwich and Linda Higginbotham, and from others they have visited and stayed with, including legendary Old Time musicians such as Kirk Sutphin.

They continue to travel, playing square dances and shows across the midwest and south.

We need to start production on our next album soon. We're gonna have a lot of expenses tied to that; such as studio time, art, and manufacturing physical CDs.
