The New Inquiry is a space for discussion that aspires to enrich public life by putting all available resources toward the promotion and exploration of ideas.

We publish and commission critical interventions in politics and culture and produce a monthly digital magazine.

We are entirely reader-funded. Thanks to our subscribers, we’ve published 57 issues, commissioned thousands of original essays, compensated our contributors, and kept our content free and accessible to all on our website.

With your support, we’ll be able to continue our work this year, as well as deepen our impact through special issues, live panels and discussions, and partnerships with other organizations.

Money we raise will also help us move toward our long-term goals. Most importantly, we want to build a more resilient website and compensate the labor of our hard-working editorial team.

Why Patreon?

We’re using this platform to create more options for readers who are looking to contribute at all financial levels. It also provides an alternative way to subscribe to our monthly magazine. Our Patreon backers will have access to special perks and will receive updates on everything TNI.

Thank you for making TNI possible!
