About The Nomadics

G'day & Welcome ! :-)
If you are someone who loves music, the planet, family, adventure AND the idea of shifting the paradigm so that these precious things get valued deeply then you've come to the right place.

Who We Are & What We Do : We're an original folk-country duo called THE NOMADICS based in Wadandi Boodja (south west Western Australia). We live, play and travel in our off-grid housetruck/boat along with our three young children. We 'sing up' connection to boodja (land) and moort (family) through our music, lifestyle, collaborations and community projects.

What's up with the tiers:
We have decided to make our Patreon content accessible to every patron -no matter the amount– so that supporters of all levels of income can participate. Please consider pledging an amount that suits your means, that can also help make a difference ...and thank you! Your generosity helps keep all of the things coming more regularly!

What you will get:
Music/videos, live streams, interviews, behind the scenes and Q&As.
Getting off the grid is the best thing we’ve ever done .. and as a family of five its not always been the easiest :-).. we've learnt ALOT & we're happy to share it with you .. we can talk about all things DIY off-grid veggie oil, solar powered housetruck/boat, we can also talk production, songwriting you tell us and we'll tailor the content to suit you.
You become part of a special community. This platform will be be our co-creation.

Why all this matters
We've always thought outside the box in order to make our living as artist-parents and give our supporters the music that they love. We've lived in a our off-grid housetruck for 12 years, this very low-cost lifestyle has enabled us to do our work in the world. A family of 5 living in a 5 x 2 m home running on waste veggie oil would not be for everyone ;-) .. yet its allowed wonderful adventures, precious family time and many remote community arts projects/events to happen..however just adapting our lifestyle is not enough anymore.

It is not new that artists have often been paid least and last .. however when you throw extra spanners in like COVID 19 it has become lethal to many artists. We reckon we need the arts more than ever to help cope and make sense of our changing world. So we'd like to write a different story and that’s why we're so excited about this Patreon platform!

Rather than chase empty dreams with Spotify or Youtube, we'd prefer to share all we've got with a dedicated community willing to sling a couple of bucks a month who really believe in what we're doing. Patreon enables us share our experiences to help inspire others
to reach their dreams and aspirations.

A little bit more on our music...
Our first album 'Love is a Flood' was released back in 2017 it is an album of acoustic duets recorded "live in the studio". The title track was inspired from the birth of our twins.
(see film clip) https://youtu.be/vXroX83hYn0
We have been working on a whole bunch of new songs which we're really excited about sharing with you first right here on Patreon.

Our music is a unique form of soul country with its roots in blues and folk ;-). It features harmonies, open tunings, banjo and slide guitar. It is intimate. Singing up country and a campfire in the heart is our calling. We have been blessed to share the big stage with legends like the Waifs, Shane Howard, Missy Higgins, Eric Bibb, John Butler and Mama Kin, yet what we really LOVE is to play beautiful intimate concerts where its ALL about connection and co-creation.We'd love you to share the adventure with us. Lets re-write the story, move from surviving to thriving by making good musical medicine together!
