WELCOME TO MY PATREON!

I'm Addison Lane, the author of the Fairypocalypse trilogy—Hanging Flynn (2011), Stealing Terry (2012), and Drowning Fergus (2013). I'm an indie author who writes largely queer modern fantasy. I have an especial interest in digging deep into the psychological and emotional states and developments of my characters—I write about adventures, but they aren't necessarily "light" reading. I live in New York with my brother, fiancée, two cats, and two toads, and Monday through Friday, I work 9-5, squeezing in writing during lunch hours and after work.

Prior to publishing FP, I earned a bachelor's degree in Asian Studies and did post-graduate work in studio art. I've dabbled in a few unfinished comics (growing up with a love of the X-Men and later manga), though nothing that's out there right now.  (Someday!)

Right now, my central project is about a group of werewolves in New Jersey. It's a story about mental health, queer family, that second coming-of-age that happens in your early 20s, friendship, and ancient witch gods. But I've also been brainstorming a series of experimental scifi novellas with a group of old writing buddies, as well as dreaming of bringing to life a poetry/comic/free-writing mash-up about Baldr and Hel with my fiancée.

WHY PATREON?

I'd like to reach a place where I can write full-time and get all these ideas out of my head. Your support can help me come closer to achieving that goal—though in the short term, your patronage will allow me to invest in making my upcoming work as polished and pretty as possible. But putting pragmatism aside, I'm also super into the community-building that Patreon supports, giving creators and fans a positive space to interact, and it's the promise of that experience that most appeals to me.  I hope you will join me on this adventure!

I look forward to sharing my thoughts, sketches, and stories with you!
