The National Videogame Museum is creating a space to celebrate videogames and the people that make them.

We have created the UK’s only cultural centre dedicated to videogames, where tens of thousands of people have played the past, present and future of videogames. We’ve just reopened in a fantastic new centre in Sheffield which lets visitors play our collection of over 100 videogames, meet and talk with videogame creators, dive into videogame festivals and other events, and find out what games mean and how they are made.

WE LOVE VIDEOGAMES!

We believe videogames are for everyone and so we celebrate everything to do with videogames and videogames culture in our unique space. We repair and preserve classic arcade machines, consoles and titles across 4 decades which everyone can play without needing a pocketful of change. We interpret videogames for visitors so people can find out what games mean and how they were designed. Visitors can play the latest games and even some in beta. We’ll be bringing seminal and up-and-coming videogames creators in to host Ask Me Anything talks. And we’re launching exciting Seasons of new content with some of the biggest names in games through 2019.

We want to build a new online community that talks about what videogames mean to you and listens to your ideas about how we can celebrate them. We want you to Make The Museum by inspiring our new Seasons, Festivals and exhibitions. Your contribution will help our team create exclusive new video content, extend our collection, create the galleries, rebuild broken games and produce content for our workshops and events.
As a Patron, you’ll be granted access to our exclusive Patron channel, get invites to special Patron events, find out what’s planned for the Museum via exclusive updates and get discounts when you visit.

We are a non-profit social enterprise which puts everything back into new programmes. Your support will help us produce the most innovative, ambitious work possible. That means bigger, better exhibitions, events and shows to reach more people. You can read more about the National Videogame Museum at thenvm.org
