Hey you!  We're the Tripp family! We consist of one artist (a figurative oil painter to be exact), one film connoisseur and incredible screenwriter (that would be my stud of a hubs), one very busy nearly 2 year old named Elliot, and one very floofy dog (that's floofy, not fluffy - important distinction).

The Painting Bee began as a blog a long time ago, way before we were a family - when I was an independent artist working my way through college and trying to figure out how to make great art, live a fulfilling life, and balance all the other shit we have to do.  My ideas were centered around fostering a positive way of being that fuels creative productivity. Since then, things have arguably gotten a lot more complicated. For example, I now successfully manage my bipolar disorder with medication, diet, and lifestyle rather than pretending its not a problem (which it was).  I also have a marriage to celebrate, an fulfilling career, and a beautiful child to raise. And yet, the mission stays more or less the same, including its challenges.  How do I make time to create art when there's always other priorities? How do I raise my son to be a whole, happy, resilient adult? How can I be a great role-model for my son and still have time to play with him? How can I make sure I'm contributing enough to my family without burning myself out? How can I cultivate real, lasting happiness and fulfillment in my life? How can I be of service to others?

If these questions resonate with you, I'm here to talk about all of it.  The good parts, the ugly parts, the amazing parts, and the every day boring parts. I'm here to take what I've learned, both through my own weird experiences and through a concentrated study of positive psychology and ontology, and distill it down into manageable but potent chunks that maybe, just maybe, will help you get from where you are to where you dream of being.

And look, I know I'm breaking a few rules here by not being more specific or focused. But here's the thing, if you're gonna get me, you're gonna get all of me. And that includes everything I've got to offer.  That means my artwork, my writing, tutorials, our family adventures, our favorite recipes, and some terrible poetry.

For those of you who aren't familiar with Patreon or how I'm choosing to use it, just think of it as a subscription service where you commit a monthly contribution and get access to my very best content and services. I've worked hard to make sure the content I offer is high value and a no-brainer and I also believe in living in the spirit of generosity, so I have created a single Pay What You Can tier, where you can choose the amount that makes the most sense to you and know that I appreciate any level of support you are able to give.

Thanks for reading, and welcome, my dear friend to The Painting Bee.

You're invited to check out my art website and join my mailing list to receive my inspirational love letters with a splash of vibrant art. Click Here!
