The People's Store PDX

The People's Store is a mutual aid effort seeking to provide a mobile link between resources and people living outside in Portland, Oregon. We operate an anticapital free store on wheels whose goal is to promote autonomy, dignity, safety, access and relationships. We develop relationships with camps, stock the store according to community requests, and collaborate with other mutual aid groups. We are here for the long haul, building at the speed of trust toward a world where everything we need is free. TPS agrees with Adrienne Maree Brown that &quot;all organizing is science fiction&quot; and believes that the revolution will be fierce, generous, and strengthened by joy.

If $1 per month is all you can afford, we'll still put your gift to good bargain-hunting use - truly, every dollar counts. A single dollar can provide one of our guests with two cups of coffee a month - one at each of our distros.

Support our work

We’re always on the hunt for bargains and opportunities to support as many community members as possible with our funds. Scout-level gifts help us elevate our offerings beyond the basics so we can fulfill special requests and snag deals when we spot ‘em.

Become a Scout

Your monthly gift plants seeds that will grow and flower into sustenance for the community we serve. At this level, each of your donations is enough to provide a snack or light meal for 15 community members.

Become a Gardener

Healers play an essential role in facilitating health and recovery, keeping our community safe and well. Each gift at this level buys us enough OTC pain meds for a month of distro, or 10 wound care kits.

Become a Healer

Your monthly gift constructs the framework and foundation that allows us to continue our work. Builders provide shelters and supports that every individual deserves access to. Donations at this level are equivalent to the purchase of two raincoats or a sale-price sleeping bag, supplying someone living on the street with shelter from our long rainy season.

Become a Builder

Weavers make the impossible possible. Participating at this level helps us weave a network of community support that is resilient, expansive, healing, and joyful. Monthly gifts at this level can help us tie together resources and partnerships, supporting our long-haul efforts like route expansions, community coalitions and peer leadership.
