How this works:
Put simply, this is a way for you to give us a perfectly-timed tip in our virtual tip bucket at the moment we release a big project. So when we put out a new music video or record (which will only be once every 3-5 months), your pledged tip amount will kick in and go towards what we spent on camera crew, venue and equipment rentals, artwork, and anything else involved in making our new creation. Just think: you can tell all your friends you're a "benefactor of the arts!" In exchange, we show that we are ever so grateful by making you a member of a super-special fan club and reward you with access to all kinds of content and perks we don't offer anywhere else but here on Patreon. We want you to feel special, because you sure will make us feel that way with your patronage.
You likely have thrown in a dollar in Adam, Shane, Dom or Keith's tip jar if you've seen them performing out individually or in bands over the years in bar rooms. Here on Patreon, it's the same concept, except that your generosity goes straight to the new and original things we are creating. Moreover, you become a part of a community that is generating work for local talent beyond our band like local dancers, graphic designers, clothing designers, and videographers.
When you click on the "Become a patron" button (seen at the bottom of the page on mobile, and the top right on desktop), you'll see different pledge tiers like the one titled, $25 "Unconscionably Handsome." We hope you'll peruse those fun things and find them of value. Throw a little change in this newfangled online tip jar, and together, let's make something cool!
How we got here and our new mission:
After producing a few music videos on our own, we've decided that we would really like to become more of a 'creative troupe' rather than just a band that plays shows and releases a record once in a blue moon.
Patreon is the place where you can help us bring to fruition more projects like "The Hero Song" video (seen below), where we wrote the music, produced and edited the video with the help of a sole local videographer. It was a pure DIY creation and it was a riotously good time to create.
Up until this point, Adam (the band's singer, songwriter and founder) has funded the production of our video and recording projects by saving money from playing cover gigs night after night, until enough of a budget was available to put toward production. *The Pseudo Cowboys has been his baby since first forming the band in high school.* However, the rate of producing these things has been a lot slower than we would like. We feel that through your support here on Patreon, we can release content at a higher rate, and deliver it directly to the super fans who genuinely enjoy it. We have an extensive back catalogue of songs and video ideas that we want to record and share, but it has never made sense to try and record it all for fear of releasing it into the void that is social media. Would it disappear into the ether and go unappreciated?
Alas, we've found a way to speak directly to YOU - the true supporter.
Over the next couple of years, with a little hope and a lot of elbow grease, we're ready to release all of this stored-up original music and other creative video ideas and works. We hope that in supporting us, you find yourself thoroughly entertained. Even more, we hope you'll feel like you've found four strange companions on this adventure through life.
Thank you so much for your love and patronage!
The Pseudo Cowboys
P.S. You can cancel your patronage at any time. And your pledged amount will only be charged when we release a project that is not a free post on this feed. Again, we only plan to release a big project every 3-5 months. Those are the ones for which your pledge will kick in.
If we accomplish this we will do a highly embarrasing 'dudeoir' photo shoot each of us in cowboy-esque scenes and turn it into a 2020 calendar. We will print a limited run for our $25 and over patrons, as well as share a .pdf file all patrons to 'enjoy.' You'll be the talk of the office for sure with a Pseudo Cowboy "Save a Horse, Ride a Pseudo Cowboy" calendar.
