The Take! is a 4-player co-operative robbery game. I started making it after PAYDAY 2's disastrous "Black Market" update, where Overkill added micro-transactions after they said they would never add micro-transactions. Then they took the micro-transactions back out, but I'd already come up with characters and a story and learned how to use Unreal, so I kept working on my game. Now apparently Overkill is in dire financial straits, so PAYDAY 3 is a big ol' question mark. I'd always imagined my game in friendly competition with it, but if it doesn't get made, hopefully The Take! can help full the void.

I try to run my studio as lean as possible. It's just me on the dev team and I use free software where I can. However, I do need to license assets and hire freelancers to help out in some areas because I can't do everything on my own. I expect that my largest expense is going to be hiring voice actors, so I'd like to build up a nest egg for that.

I have one tier and it costs $1. I go pretty ham on the free community content and features and your monthly pledge allows me to be super extra with that stuff and make it available to everyone. In exchange, you get to see the Making Of content that otherwise wouldn't get posted and participate in Patron-only community events.

You may contribute more by submitting a custom pledge if you wish; I'd appreciate the hell out of that actually. You may also unpledge at anytime. I understand that circumstances change and you may need to cancel. I ain't gonna get mad about it. Additionally, if you would like to contribute money, but not on a monthly basis, I also take one-time contributions through PayPal.

Please know that the best thing you can do for me and my game - what I hope you will do regardless of whether you become a Patron - is participate in the community. A multiplayer game like this needs community behind it to succeed. All the dosh in the world can't help a multiplayer game without multiple players. Editing the wiki, hanging out in the Discord server, posting on the forums: these things all do the most to ensure The Take!'s success.

Whether you choose to pledge or not, thank you for your support! Everyone who participates in The Take!'s community - whether their contribution is financial or otherwise - helps see my game to completion and success.
