"Members of TropiGals are true professionals, inducing the feeling of another era, from their dramatic rendition of “The Charleston” to their Betty Boop-like facial expressions...The dedication to their craft – both in costume and choreography – is admirable."

Who We Are:
The Gals reference a time when the silver screen required triple threat talent and Hollywood was as it will always remain in our collective memory; a place of fantasies, glitz, and glamour. Directed by Kristen Minsky, since 2010, they have been conquering hearts along the Eastern Seaboard with a show, a swipe of lipstick, and a smile to bring a level of entertainment gone by in the films, supper clubs and USO shows of yesteryear. Performers and revelers alike are invited to join in stepping out of time in order to suspend belief and re-imagine the past, thus creating a fantastic (but fleeting) living installation.

Female-identified individuals of all shades, shapes, sizes and ages are welcome to audition and perform as TropiGals. For nearly 10 years, some of the most important and prized feedback received from team members, clients and audiences has been that they can see themselves in what we do.

What We Do:
The TropiGals perform regularly as a part of the vintage culture community at neo-vaudeville shows and supper clubs as well as weddings, and other private events. Annually, nearly one half of The Gal's performances are donated to non-profit benefits and donor appreciation events in Rhode Island and Southern Massachusetts for organizations such as Rhode Island Pride, Sojourner House, and Amenity Aid, among others.

What You're Supporting:
Rehearsals take place two-to-three times weekly year-round for an average of 6-10 hours per week. Members volunteer this time to ensure that we are showcasing the best possible performances we can, particularly during our busiest seasons. As a result of our rehearsal space needs, we rent a studio in a local mill. Membership fluctuates seasonally between 8 and 13 dancers. Up to 5 costumes are typically acquired annually, as many of our performance opportunities (both paid and donated) are for events and occasions with specific themes. Rotating membership often requires new costumes as well, due to the variety of figures that we take pride in owning.

By supporting this project you'll be assisting us to afford our rehearsal space, basic studio costs, costuming and transport for the team when we have opportunities to perform out of town.

In the past 12 months, we have enjoyed opportunities to perform at nearly 40 different occasions in Rhode Island, New York City, Pittsburgh, Boston, Vermont, North Carolina, and New Hampshire.

Just keep swimming! The Field of Dreams paradigm is never far from our minds: If we make it, they will come. Whether we are swimming or dancing, your contribution keeps us afloat and allows us to torn dreams into realities.
Big Fan
$20 or more per month 0 patrons
We always appreciate knowing that we have a fan in the world, someone who is curious to see what we are up to and who (when possible) will join us for an occasional night on the town to see us in action. As a Big Fan, you are helping us to bring our ideas to life one costume, dance shoe or bus ticket at a time. These items may seem small, but they are just the ticket when it comes to Galing around.

Ziegfield's Follies were like a dream come true and your fabulously generous contribution will help bring ours to life. It will allow us to think big while ensuring that we have a space in which to do it, among assisting with other important needs like costuming and occasional travel. We may dance on a sparkling water budget, but with a Ziegfield like you by our side, we can enjoy a few Champagne Dreams.
