Hey, Wine Idealists!

My name is Daniel... aka The Wine Idealist.

I've been writing about natural, organic, and biodynamic wines on my website -  thewineidealist.com - each and every single week for over three years now!

Since November 2012, I've been interviewing, transcribing, and then writing up long format stories and publishing them every Friday at 10:30am (AEST), all about natural, organic, biodynamic... OK, let's just say artisanal wines... from Australia and New Zealand.

I've done interviews and written articles on true wine icons such as, Vanya Cullen (Cullen), Ron Laughton (Jasper Hill), and Julian Castagna (Castagna) from Australia, and James Millton (Millton Vineyards), Nick Mills (Rippon), and Mike & Claudia Weersing (Pyramid Valley) from New Zealand...

I've been covering the new wave of Australian wine producers since day dot, including winemakers like Jauma, Patrick Sullivan, Gentle Folk, Si Vintners, and heaps more...

And, also some lesser known, but equally delcioius winemakers and growers such as, Avani, Hochkirch, Freehand, Greenhough, and Don wines...

I've published 101 guides to biodynamics and the astro calendar, as well as op eds about natural wines, outliers, paradigm shifts, sommeliers, and Australian terroir!

I guess, the point is I've written and published a lot of great, useful, and entertaining content, all to do with the changing state of wine in Australia and New Zealand over the last few years. As you can imagine... to arrange, conduct, and transcribe the interviews, then write the story, edit it, and, finally, publish it, does take quite a long, long time... usually two solid days, at least!

Now, in 2016 I need your help to keep going!

In order to become more financially sustainable and continue writing about the changing state of wine in Australia and New Zealand, I need you guys to become a bone fide wine idealist, become my patron, support my content... support wine idealism!

My Mac Book Pro (MBP) has served me well for the last 8 years! It's been around the world with me. It was there the day I went to the Real Wine Fair in London, and tasted the one wine (Castagna Genesis Syrah, 2009, FYI) that changed my life and was the birth of The Wine Idealist. It was there the day decided to start writing properly about these kinds of wines from Australia and New Zealand, and it's been there, every single day, week in week out, and every Friday at 10:30am when it came time to post the /NEW/ Edition of The Wine Idealist!

Saying goodbye hurts, but my old MBP is on its last legs, and it's time to upgrade. My first goal on Patreon is to earn enough cash for a replacement laptop, so that I can continue working and writing all about natural, organic, and biodynamic wines from Australia and New Zealand.

Thank you!
