Welcome!

I'm Faye Williams, and I'm a British freelance writer, blogger and occasional website consultant (that's a fancy way of saying that I help local businesses with their websites, hosting and email).

I started writing fiction at the age of eight, creating stories for my younger brother. I used to read them aloud to him at home - he had to listen because he was three and had no one else to play with.

I took a very long writing break after the novel I wrote at the age of 23 failed to make it onto the bestseller shelf of WHSmith. Or in fact any shelf anywhere. In the last few years I've returned to doing what I love the most.

Do you have any credentials?

You mean, am I any good? Well, I had an unpublished novel long-listed for the Mslexia Women's Novel prize in 2015. I have a piece of flash fiction included in an anthology that you can buy on Amazon, and the television that currently stands in my living room was the first prize in a short story competition that I entered at the last minute (I will keep that TV forever and ever).

Why are you on Patreon?

Because with your support I can write more. Most unpublished novelists write in a void where they have very little feedback on their work and barely any encouragement. I'd love to hear from you, and I want to share my words with you. Together we make a team.

What do you write?

a) I create a piece of flash fiction every month (usually around 500 words, sometimes more, sometimes less).

I will also be ad-hoc sharing:

b) chapters from my latest novel
c) chapters from the book I am writing on minimalism
d) behind-the-scenes insights into my writing and blogging methods

Theme-wise I write women's fiction, romance, drama and an occasional bit of out-of-the-ordinary-ness.

Can I read a something you've written before I pledge?

Absolutely!

You can read a flash fiction here, and the first chapter of the novel I am currently working on.

Well gosh. I'm not sure I can express my gratitude for this level of commitment.

You (obviously) get all the content, but I will also mail you a printed piece of flash fiction written especially for you. You decide on the theme, or provide me with a writing prompt, any subject at all.

I'll do the rest 💕

A huge, forever grateful and indebted thank you for taking my work seriously enough to make me feel like a proper writer.

Validation for my writing! Once I reach $200 a month I'll post an actual video of me being terrible on camera. Thank you x
