This Is Good Content is creating a mastodon instance

$0
per month
We're running a Mastodon instance over at thisisgoodcontent.com so any and all financial support would be appreciated.

Right now costs are decently low ($5/mo) but I pay that out of pocket. Even if you just kicked me $1 a month, that'd help.

If the instance grows and donations do as well, I can upscale the number of users the instance supports. Hopefully one day we can get enough funding and users to upgrade the hosting plan and get some custom CSS on that site. The goal is to get $30/mo so that the instance will be self-sufficient and can be upgraded to dedicated hosting.

Why don't you just host the instance on your own hardware server?
Because I want guaranteed uptime, and hosting it myself on a single server under my desk can't do that. Also I'd be opening myself up to DDoS attacks, among other things.

$1 pays for roughly one week of uptime at current rate
One Month
$5 or more per month 0 patrons
$5 pays for one month of uptime at current rate and a little less than a week at target rate
One Quarter
$15 or more per month 0 patrons
$15 pays for three months of uptime at current rate and half a month at goal rate
Goal
$30 or more per month 0 patrons
$30/mo would get us to our goal of moving to dedicated hosting
Goals
$0 of $4 per month
If I get just $4/mo, that would help spread the cost around for running the instance.
