Starting September, I'll need to either dedicate more or less time to Thorium Remix. I may need to spend much more time on completely unrelated projects. I work far more effectively when I can dedicate large blocks of time to Thorium Remix, as opposed to my current dribs and drabs.
If viewers are not interested in supporting me directly, then I'll use your support to dedicate as much part-time as I can to Thorium Remix editing. Obviously, travel will be constrained.
If viewers do support me, I can go "all-in". Rapid iteration of chapters. Travel to round out interviews. I'm strongly incentivized to spend all my time & financial resources improving the yearly iterations of Thorium Remix.

Computer programmer gone video-editor for the sake of Thorium Remix project. Thorium Remix is ongoing series of videos (started in 2009) to help communicate value of thorium and molten salt reactors.
Currently I'm working (part-time) on Thorium Remix 2015. Before "1.0" release I'll show it to Patreons (and Kickstarter backers) for peer review. Unlike most documentaries, it will then iterate continually.

Thorium is an abundant energy resource. Molten Salt Reactors (MSR) are the means by which thorium can be turned into pollution-free energy. This is based on decades old research now in the public domain.
This is not "thorium car" nonsense.
China's state-run Academy of Science, and free-market efforts like Canada's Terrestrial Energy, USA's Flibe Energy, Transatomic Power & ThorCon are all developing Molten Salt Reactors.
MSR cost less than today's nuclear, and offer a wide array passive safety options over the engineered safety strategies found in today's reactors. Passive safety features depend on physics (gravity), not diesel powered pumps (Fukushima).
Our current choice of nuclear reactors stem from nuclear powered subs (and other military considerations) rather than an optimal solution for power and medical isotope production.
I've run 3 Kickstarter campaigns to help fund Thorium Remix footage acquisition, and pay for video editing equipment. Those were invaluable. We captured China's MSR announcement in Shanghai, and every Thorium conference since. We upgraded my video editing software. Every video I've released since 2011 is thanks to Kickstarter support.
To date, I have not spent any Kickstarter funds as "income". Since early 2013 I've been time constrained regardless of funding. That is about to change, in a possibly great way. So my thorium related work is about to either slow down or speed up... if you think these videos are worth supporting.
I'm asking you for $1 / yearly Thorium Remix release.
Technical lectures and/or interviews are part of my production process and intended to educate folks already interested in Thorium. It is the Thorium Remix videos that have the biggest impact, and for which I'm asking your support. With your support, I will begin releasing yearly updates.
So far, humans have spent 40 years watching my videos (a man-hours tally). Almost 1 million views. And that's just on my own channel... Copies on other people's YouTube accounts have collected over 2 million more views. This is a possible thanks to the [Remix this video!] button, which I enable.
I'd like familiarity with Thorium and Molten Salt Reactors to reach not just millions, but one billion !
To do that I must release better videos, faster. With your support, I will do that. Most everything (except time) is already taken care of... Thorium Remix 2015 is being edited on a fantastic platform using TBs of already-indexed footage... I need more editing time for Thorium Remix 2015, and then I'll need funds-and-time to create a future Thorium Remix 2016.
Cancelling support is super-easy, should any year's Thorium Remix video not meet your expectations. Supporters will preview early edits, and I look forward to your peer-review feedback.
With (or without) your support I'll continue creating Thorium Remixes. But I can't take 4 years to iterate remixes... I can inform the world about Thorium & Molten Salt Reactors much more effectively dedicating full-time hours to it.
