The publishing industry of today isn't like it was when TS Elliot, Stephen King, John Grishom and even George R.R. Martin began. This is not to say they made it quickly or easily. However, they made it. Today its far, far harder. Both agents and publishers get so much unusable material that they miss out on the good. Most don't even try any more.

This leaves me with content that isn't seen by you because they are more interested easy quick money rather than a long term investment. I am a single man who lives paycheck to paycheck, struggling to get my stories done in between retail shifts. I also have an elderly mother who I stay with so she can continue to enjoy retirement.

All I am asking is the same that guy who plays on the sidewalk with the open guitar case and sign asks. If you like my content, tip me. Even better, help me self publish my novel. That's $5000. More on that later.

My novel series revolves around mermaids and the fact that they secretly rule the world. The time has come for the king to step down and be replaced with a new ruler. Only Aria's not ready. She's not really interested in mermaid culture, caught up in our own. In pursuing our cultural ideals, she steals a golden ticket. That's a highly prized object protected by sirens who have access to all music across all time. One of those is her best friend, Gwen, who becomes her adversary in the process of retrieving the ticket. In retrieving that tickets, she actually takes Aria's place as princess. My WordPress blog Song of the Assembly explains this in more detail. It also houses were I post the stories. Oh, did I mention that if you saw Gwen or Aria you won't know they aren't normal teens? Or that they are All-star cheerleaders?
The stories have a glee like style to them. The main character Gwen is a siren so she sings to express her emotions. Music is littered about; not just contemporary pop but rock, goth and and even Christian. If you enjoyed glee for any ready, you will enjoy my stories. (same if you liked Smash or an teen show on the CW). There are six right now. One novella unfinished that hasn't been posted, one that has and two short stories. Finally there is the novel itself. Titled 'Song of Betrayal' it awaits me getting an agent or that $5000 I mentioned.

That's what you would be funding. While I do make just enough for living expensives in Houston, I have no extra for this. I have submitted it to numerous agents and got a lot of great comments but no bites. The $5000 is for printing, putting on Amazon, Bowker - Books In Print® and getting it into Barnes & Noble, Booksamillion and those wonderful small bookstores that still exist.
So thanks for reading this. Thanks for going to the link.

if you toss in a dollar, you are in for the autographed novel if you want. Really its what you want, what you think is valuable. People toss $4.99 at games on their phone for nothing more than a digital advantage. So you have nothing to lose. We can always talk. You can get what you want. Very few offer that.
Goals
$0 of $10 per story
Why ten dollars? Because thats how much it costs to have one of the stories printed, bound and sent out. I know we are in a digital society where nothing is permanent and everything is e-something. People still crave print. Besides I want an easy goal for you all. Hit it and I will send you a bound hard copy. That's one person with 10 on 10 people with 1. You can even do bitcoins if you like (its on the blog).
When that day comes that I real the ultimate goal of $5000, everyone who wants an autographed copy of the novel will get one.
If you want something else (like yourself in a story, mention of something that you do or apart of) hit me up. We can talk.
