About TR

Welcome to the Patreon page for Crystal Visions!

Crystal Visions is a webcomic created by me (Tiffany McLeod) and written by Brianna Shackelford.

It's about Crystal, a young woman raised as an alchemist who sets out for a funeral and instead discovers that she is, in fact, a mage. She quickly finds herself entangled in conspiracy and secrets between two schools of magic: the science of Alchemy and the spirituality of Magehood.

I want to tell this story because it is awesome. There are monsters, magic and it’s set in the late 90s ...I mean 1890s.

It's a story about change and trying to find your way again when life changes up unexpectedly. I first thought of this story years ago during my first year of college. That year I experienced radical changes in my personal life and academic career. I was also reading a lot of manga and watching anime, so somewhere between Cardcaptor Sakura and all of the Studio Ghibli films at the time, Crystal came about. Then it just stuck with me the idea of this character inspired by other female characters that didn't need a romantic love interest to have an engaging story. Visually my watercolor style came about during my Nintendo Okami + Miyazaki phase and has never left. It's just how I draw now.

Alas, although I had a great idea it was challenging to write the story. I spent years working on the story starting, stopping only to restart again. It was a cycle. I had to face it, I needed help. Enter my writer, Brianna, who made Crystal Visions what you see and experience today.

How will your pledges help?

Tiffany (the artist) needs “Artist” things—> Currently this webcomic is being powered by my day job. Which at the moment covers living expenses and a soul-sucking student loan or two. I need your pledges to help with things like memory for my aging Alienware desktop to render better backgrounds. Paying to host the comic on a domain, and cover the costs to promote the comic through prints and other accessories at conventions. It will also give us a chance to meet you guys at conventions.

Brianna (the writer) needs writer and musician things--→pens (she loses them everywhere) + music software and hardware, virtual instruments.

Those are just some examples, but essentially your help means more time to make comics.
