Tom Fonder is creating Comics
Freelance maker of things.
I’m an artist living in London, England, and I’ve been creating free, web-based content on a regular basis for the past few years. My current projects include two humour driven webcomics, Happy Jar and The Adventures of Business Cat, as well as the drinking card game, Drunken Warriors.
On an average month, I produce 6-7 Happy Jar strips, 2-3 Business Cat strips, and 20 Drunken Warriors cards. This content is all free to view online and will always remain so. What I would like to do is produce even more content and branch out into other areas.
I’ve been lucky thus far in that my work has been well received and I’ve been able to make a small income from producing content. London living aint cheap, however, and the money I make on merchandise and advertising revenue fluctuates wildly from month to month. What I am looking to do with Patreon is introduce a little bit of stability to my finances that will allow me to spend more time creating new content and less time worrying about making rent.
So, what is Patreon?
Patreon is a way for you, the reader, to show support for my work and make it rain money all over my body in the form of inexpensive, monthly donations. You can choose to donate as much or as little as you like, be it $1, $5, 50c or whatever, and every month I will receive that amount.
As a small token of my thanks, patrons will also be granted access to some extra bits and pieces, such as images of works in progress, high resolution files, wallpapers and bonus panels. All of these are outlined in greater detail under the rewards section.
Why should I give you money?
Because you love my stuff and for the low, low price of $1 a month, I will love you back. Also, because I’m sick of microwave pasta.
I do not expect that anyone contribute more than they already do by simply reading and sharing my content. However, for those of you who feel they would like to put in that little bit extra, I am very grateful for your patronage. If not, don’t worry. My content will always remain free to view.
What are the rewards?
You will find a list of the rewards outlined below. I’m still new to the whole Patreon thing, so I may choose to add to these rewards or change around the thresholds at a later date.
