Milestone Goals
Flash profiles!
I will create an interactive flash page containing expanded profiles for all of the comic's characters. You'll be able to see some extra, out-of-comic info about them, and Patrons will get to see new profiles before they go live!
Ads!
No, this does not mean I'll be adding more ads to my website. It means I'll have more money to spend purchasing ads on OTHER sites, helping bring The Nightmare Squad more traffic and recognition.
Thank you song!
I will write, compose, sing, and film video of a song thanking you for your support. It will be equal parts awesome and embarrassing.
New website!
By the time I've reached this goal, I'll be able to afford the costs to design and run my own website for The Nightmare Squad. I'll keep running a Tumblr blog to promote my webcomic, but a site for hosting the comic itself will look Cool and Professional.
Also, I'll be able to do cool web stuff that I might not be able to do on Tumblr!

It's tattoo time.
I will tattoo Aliesya's face on my right butt cheek.
Tat-two.
I will also tattoo Shaw's face on my left butt cheek.

Who are you?
My name is David Turnbull. I'm 21 years old and a computer science student at the University of Calgary. As you might be able to tell from my comic's art style, I'm relatively new in the art biz - matter of fact, I only really started drawing regularly around the time I started the comic. Whether you take this as a good sign or not really depends on whether or not you think my art is decent for a newbie, I guess.
Aside from my art skills, I've got a bit of experience writing - lots of fanfics and whatnot - and I'm usually described as a funny, compassionate, cool, and handsome guy.
What is The Nightmare Squad?
The Nightmare Squad is an action/comedy webcomic about a group of Daydreamers - superpowered people who fight off elusive monsters known as Nightmares. Follow The Nightmare Squad's newest recruit, Shaw Spence, as she learns about her new set of powers, grows as a person, and - with the help of her new best pal, Aliesya Culpepper - turns The Nightmare Squad from a ragtag bunch of misfits into an expert, close-knit team.
How does Patreon work?
First time patron? No problem! It's pretty simple - you choose how much you want to pledge, choose which reward tier you want if applicable, and then you can set up payments through credit card or Paypal. Patreon will walk you through the process and it looks like they're pretty dedicated to making sure you only get charged money when you wanna get charged.
Speaking of charges, you may notice I'm on a per week model. Though I believe Patreon only charges your card once per month, the amount you pay will be the sum of all the weeks of updates in that month. I did it this way because, if I miss a week, I can make it so you won't be charged for a week in which I don't update. You can also set up a monthly maximum, to ensure you never get charged any more than you're willing to pay! It's all quite convenient.
Where does our money go?
Straight into DA BANK - ka-ching! No, but seriously, The Nightmare Squad is more of a hobby than a career at this point, as I am still busy trying to earn a degree in University. As such, most of the money I earn at first will go towards improving the comic and its site, and then I'll keep the rest in my savings to help fund my university tuition and keep me afloat once I finish school.
How does the latter relate to my creative pursuits? Well, my parents are providing me room and board as long as I can still afford to pay for university, so the more money I've got saved up, the better. If I suddenly find myself without a house or a job, I'll be too busy to work on the comic, so it's nice to have a rainy-day fund just in case.
Any closing remarks?
Thank you very much for checking out my Patreon page, and thank you doubly if you decide to donate! You are a cool and rad person and I am telling you this not only because you might give me money (that is part of it, yes) but also because I genuinely believe it's true! That's the kind of guy I am.
