Welcome! My name is Matthew Egan, but in Pokémon Go circles I'm known as "Trainer Tol". I'm an Entrepreneur and Philanthropist located in San Antonio and I host Pokemon Go events.  My team and I are most known for hosting the Trainer Tol Charity Raid Bus.

Since our very first Raid Bus on August 12th, 2017 we have raised over $20,000 for various charities such as  Mystery Dog RescueSt. Baldrick's Foundation and The Peter Mayhew Foundation.

All proceeds after expenses go directly to that month's charity, we don't even take money from the bus to buy our raid passes - every possible dollar goes to that month's charity - and it always will.

Patreon is a patronage platform that lets you support a creator by giving a small monthly donation to help that creator do what they do best.  In our case, we offer $1, $5 and $25 monthly Patron levels and each level includes different perks.  When you first sign up you will be billed for the month we are in - and then you will be billed again on the 1st of the next month.  Cancel any time.

For our Charity Raid Bus events we never thought they would become so popular, but with that growth has also meant increased expenses.  We have a team of about a dozen volunteers, including scouts that help us find raid locations to visit from the Raid Bus.  The income from this Patreon will help us cover the admin and technical expenses for the Trainer Tol website, for our team of volunteers, and to help us keep the costs down of putting on amazing events without taking away our ability to donate the maximum amount from each Raid Bus to charity.

Following the launch of this Patreon, as just one example, we treated our volunteer team to a homemade Steak Taco Dinner after they had been out as either scouts or volunteering on the raid bus for nine hours that day.  Supporting our team at a higher level will help us prevent scout burnout and keep our best possible crew on the road.

You may not know this, but every volunteer you see on the Raid Bus actually pays for their ticket on the bus like everyone else.  So not only are these folks serving everyone pizza, navigating the bus, and helping ensure everyone has a great time - they're also paying to do it.

Q.  Does the Patreon money go to charity?
A.  No.  Our charity donations will continue to be generated by Raid Bus ticket sales, however by covering overhead expenses via the Patreon we will have more money after each Raid Bus to donate to charity.

Q.  When do my Raid Bus perks expire?
A.  As long as you are a patron at the $5 level or higher you will continue to gain access to advanced ticketing availability and/or reserved seating at the $25 patron level.  If you terminate your Patron status you will retain your perks through the end of that month and then they will expire on the first day of the new month.

Q.  My question isn't covered here - who can I contact?
A.  If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to e-mail me directly at  [email protected] with your questions.
