Hi everyone!

My name is Cameron and I run and curate the popular Transit Maps blog, founded in 2011. Over the years, it's become the "go-to" destination for transit and design aficionados around the world, but running the website — finding and sorting new material, writing commentary, responding to questions and submissions from readers, creating new maps of my own, as well as maintaining the site's TwitterFacebookPinterest and Instagram pages — is taking more and more of my time. It's basically become another whole entire job outside of my actual job.

As with many websites in these modern ad-blocker days, revenue from web-based ads that I use to support the site is decreasing rapidly. So I'm looking to move towards a reader-supported subscription method using Patreon instead.

If you read Transit Maps regularly, I'd like you to consider offering a small monthly contribution — as little as $3 a month would help enormously — to express your appreciation for what I do (think of it as a tip jar for all the work that goes into running the site every day).

As you may know, I've recently moved the blog off the Tumblr platform to Wordpress, so I now have web hosting and domain name registration costs to cover. Your pledges would definitely help defray those expenses -- if I had enough interest, I would be able to make the blog completely ad-free for a better reading experience.

Thank you for your consideration,

Cameron

I hate ads on my site, but they've been a necessary evil. Meeting this funding goal would allow me to remove all those super-annoying ads from my site.
